  • The Cabinet Meeting on 28 September 2005, through the Joint Cabinet Notes by the Ministry of Finance (MOF) and Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) No. H609/2005 agreed to establish the National ICT Security and Emergency Response Centre (now known as CyberSecurity Malaysia) as a National Body to monitor the National e-Security aspect, spin-off from MIMOS to become a separate agency and incorporated as a Company Limited-by- Guarantee, under the supervision of MOSTI.

  • On 19 October 2018, Cabinet Meeting chaired by the YAB Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad decided CyberSecurity Malaysia will report to Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (KKMM) under Compliance and Control Sector.

  • On 22 October 2018, CyberSecurity Malaysia officially report to Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (KKMM).

 

What Does CyberSecurity Malaysia Do?

 

In essence, CyberSecurity Malaysia is committed to providing a broad range of cybersecurity innovation-led services, programmes and initiatives to help reduce the vulnerability of digital systems, and at the same time strengthen Malaysia’s self-reliance in cyberspace.
