Nomination Criteria

6 Award Categories

 

  • A CEO / CIO / CSO / Compliance Officer or Equivalent
  • An executive who has been instrumental in driving cyber security matters in his/her organization by aligning cyber security as a business strategy and Board of Director’s Agenda
  • An executive who has contributed to the development of cyber security industry in Malaysia
  • An executive who is looked up by his/her peers for setting a benchmark in Governance, Risk & Compliance as management best practices
  • The criteria is open for local and international nomination
  • The Most Innovative Cyber Security Company is conferred to company that has shown excellence in products and technologies development within its industry. The recipient company should have shown development and innovation by having line of emerging products and technologies. The contenders of this award will be evaluated based on the following key criteria:
    • Degree of Development & Innovation – New and Improvement
    • Impact of the development / innovation to the Malaysia’s Industry
    • Financial success – Revenue growth ; profitability
    • Customer satisfaction & value enhancement
  • A company that has contributed to the development of cyber security industry in Malaysia
  • The criteria is open for local and international nomination
  • The Cyber Security Outreach Provider OTY is conferred on the Industry body that has shown exemplary commitment to the cause of Risk Management & Cyber Security. The contenders of this award will be evaluated based on the following key criteria:
    1. Has played an effective role in improving the understanding & importance of Cyber Security awareness amongst citizens and businesses.
    2. Has created best practice documents, conducted seminars and participated in policy formulation that has furthered the cause of Cyber Security awareness .
    3. Is based in Malaysia and contributed to the growth of local industry
    4. Has achieved substantial recognition amongst peers and industry for its pioneering work
  • The criteria is open for local and international nomination
  • The Cyber Security Project OTY is conferred on the project that has shown exemplary performance in 2017 locally / globally. The contenders of this award will be evaluated based on the following key criteria:
    1. Design of Security Framework
      • Scope of the Project – Complexity, size, length, breadth of impact. 
    2. Security Initiatives
      • The impact of the Project’s Security Initiatives on the organization and the community.
    3. Technology & Innovation
      • Methodology & Approach - Technology, process and people triad adopted by the project in terms information security and risk management. Successful integration of this triad.
    4. Project Deliverables
      • The success of the project in terms of meeting the timeline, conforming to the allocated budget and achieving the objectives of the Project. Needs to have a clear demonstration of business value and alignment of security strategy with business strategy.
  • A project that has contributed to the development of cyber security industry in Malaysia
  • The criteria is open for local and international nomination
  • Number of people outreached
  • Number of events organised / participated / collaborated
  • Has developed and contributed content to CyberSAFE Malaysia
  • Has achieved substantial recognition in the community
  • Demonstrated innovation in program/activity delivery
  • The criteria is open for local and international nomination

The Cyber Security Innovation OTY is divided into 3 selection criteria;

  1. Product
    • Impact to the Cyber Security landscape; addressing current challenges
    • Innovation lead to commercialization
    • Improve visibility
    • Promote branding for the company or industry or nation
    • Technology Innovation that increases national level capability & capacity
  2. Education
    • Educational initiatives that promotes innovation
    • Innovative training methods
    • Recognition of said initiatives
    • Leads to further studies on ways to further improve an area of Cyber Security
  3. Service
    • New services provided
    • Bringing new expert knowledge to Cyber Security Service Industry
    • Impact it brings to the industry and country as a whole
    • Recognition attained.
