Message from CEO

Assalamualaikum WBT and Salam Sejahtera.

We meet again in this third edition of CyberNEWS 2020.

Meanwhile the country is still under the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) due to pandemic Covid-19, most programs are conducted online, utilizing existing digital technology platforms. Yet, CyberSecurity Malaysia and other organizers conducted several physical programs, but were minimal and all participants are required to adhere strictly to the SOP.

In this third quarter, CyberSecurity Malaysia organised the following physical programs namely the National Cyber Security Awareness Module (MKKSN) Pilot Workshop with the Education Resources and Technology Division (BSTP), Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE) at nine different locations throughout Malaysia, Cyber Security And Defence Seminar in collaboration with Regiment 502 Askar Wataniah Selangor to cultivate cyber security in defence sector and Launching Ceremony of Nexgen SOC in collaboration with Heitech Padu and RSA Security through CyberSecurity Collaboration Program (CCP) initiative and MYCC 2020 Open Day with the theme Cyber Security Evaluation and Certification Services for The Digital Economy Era.

The organisation also participated in several online programmes such as Android Mobile Malware Case Study During Covid19 Lockdown Training Program, Virtual Seminar: Cloud Security Day and Industry 5.0 and the Asia Pacific Computer Emergency Response Team (APCERT) Annual General Meeting 2020.

A series of Cyber Security Professionals development workshops such as the Global ACE Certification Scheme, Technical Training for Smart Card Reader Security and Cloud Computing Security Training also took place in this third quarter.

As a cybersecurity expert agency, CyberSecurity Malaysia is committed to strengthen the country’s cybersecurity ecosystem from a technical aspect and simultaneously sustain the agenda to foster cybersecurity awareness among Internet users in Malaysia.

I would like to take this opportunity to urge all Malaysian digital citizens to continue complying with the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) by adopting this new normal culture. Always use the technology positively, ethically and responsibly and practice high level of self-control.

Be Smart Be Safe. Together Towards Cyber Wellness.

Thank you.
