Security Awareness

The Security Awareness course aims of creating a general understanding and awareness towards information security among computer users and professionals at home and in organisations. This is a 2-day course designed to teach the basic fundamentals and concepts of information security.

The participants are expected to have basic undestanding of computer and network based applications.

Objectives

• To increase awareness on the importance of securing information efficiently.
• To understand the different types of threats, risks and vulnerabilities that exist in both cyberspace and non-cyberspace environments and learn effective ways to mitigate the risks.
• To learn more about the different type of effective security management practices and tools that can be used to increase information security.
• To create an in-depth culture of information security among the Malaysian public inline with the government's efforts to increase the utilization of internet and intranet communication capabilities for increased productivity.

Training Team

CyberSecurity Malaysia training team consists of trainers with strong theoretical and practical knowledge of information security and most of the trainers are GIAC GSEC and BS7799 Lead Auditor certified. CyberSecurity Malaysia trainers have been extensively involved with various information security-related projects such as the ISMS Pilot Programme and conducted several other training programmes such as ISO17799 & BS7799-2:2002 Awareness Training Course and Business Continuity Planning. CyberSecurity Malaysia trainers are well exposed to the many facets of security training and are well-equipped to deliver such courses.
