Public sector ICT plan ready in eight months

SHAH ALAM:The public sector ICT strategic plan, which will form the blueprint for the electronic government, will be ready in eight months.

The plan is being prepared by the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Manpower Planning Unit (Mampu), its director-general Datuk Dr Muhammad Rais Abdul Karim said yesterday.

It involves coordinating the development of the internet and communication and information technology (ICT) strategic development plans, he said after opening the public sector computer managers con ference. Also involved in the plan is PriceWaterhouseCoopers, the appointed consultants.

He said Mampu had also received positive feedback from government agencies on the preparation of their respective ICT strategic plans.

The government has identified electronic labour exchange, e-syariah, e-procurement, e-services, generic office environment, human resource management, information system and project monitoring system to be developed under e-government. - Bernama
