KUALA LUMPUR: BizAid Technologies Sdn Bhd has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Malaysian Institute of Corporate Governance (MICG) to bring the ProTrust "Trust and Security" Seal to Malaysian e-businesses.

BizAid (http://www.mybizaid.net) and MICG (www.micg.net) will collaborate to position and promote the ProTrust Seal, a trust mark initiative which aims to promote the integrity of websites and enhance online corporate governance, BizAid said in a statement.

"The partnership with BizAid symbolises a diversification in the quality of corporate governance by promoting greater transparency, integrity, accountability and responsibility to online businesses supporting the K-Economy vision of Malaysia," MICG president Datuk Megat Najmuddin Khas.

"ProTrust Seal aims to bring Malaysia's online business to a higher level by promoting e-business confidence and a higher flow of online business activities.

"The information provided in the seal will give a trustworthy presence of the Internet for all online companies and is in line with the Government's call for transparency and corporate governance," he added.

ProTrust Seal (www.protrust2me.com.my), conceptualised by Digicert Sdn Bhd (Digicert) and Web Seals Sdn Bhd (wholly-owned by the BizAid Group), provides Internet users with business information pertaining to site authentication, financial verification, front-end e-business details, privacy verification, as well as back-end e-business process and integrity verification.

"As Malaysia steps into the K-Economy, where corporate governance and transparency is of high importance, the need for e-business verification on both trust and security becomes high," said BizAid CEO Victor Ooi.

BizAid, an MSC status company, is an accelerated venture between OptixLab and Info-House IT Sdn Bhd, another MSC status company.
