PETALING JAYA: The National ICT Security and Emergency Response Centre (Niser) has not received any report of attacks by the BlackMal worm in Malaysia.

The malicious mass-mailing computer virus, which is also known as the KamaSutra worm, was programmed to attack computers yesterday, and the third of every month thereafter.

News reports from countries in forward time zones such as Australia and New Zealand indicate that the worm has had minimal impact so far.

Niser said it is currently tracking the status of the worm with its counterparts overseas.

"We have yet to receive any feedback and/or confirmation from them," said a spokesman for the centre.

BlackMal affects all versions of the Microsoft Windows operating system, and will wipe out existing files in affected computers.
