ISC2 leads off expanded ALIG programme
6th March 2006 (The Star)

SERI KEMBANGAN: The International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC2) has expanded its Affiliated Local Interest Group (ALIG) programme outside of last year's pilot project. Infosec.my, the Malaysian ALIG, is the first to launch its activities under the expanded programme.

The activities include workshops, discussion forums and professional lectures for members, so as to help build up a community of ICT security professionals in Malaysia service, according to Niser training and outreach manager Philip Victor.

This would also help the Certified Information Systems Security Professionals (CISSPs) in Malaysia get the 120 hours of continuing professional education they require every three years to get their certification renewed without having to resit the CISSP exam.

In addition, the Infosec.my organised activities would not need to be audited by ISC2 before they are accepted as counting towards the 120-hour total, Victor said.
