SHAH ALAM: The driver of a Suzuki Jimny four-wheel drive could not be seen in the surveillance camera recordings captured at the Kota Damansara toll plaza on the night Altantuya Shaariibuu disappeared.

CyberSecurity Malaysia senior digital forensics analyst Mohd Zabri Aidil Talib, 28, said he had used the latest technology to try to "zoom in" on the driver.

"At the moment, this is the latest technology. It depends on the situation. In this case, I tried but I was not successful," he said on Day 57 of the trial.

Earlier, Mohd Zabri said the agency, formerly known as National ICT Security and Emergency Response or Niser, was a private company funded by the Government under the Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry.

To questions from Hazman Ahmad, counsel for C/Insp Azilah Hadri, the witness said he was neither gazetted to testify as an expert nor was the agency accredited by any independent body.

CyberSecurity Malaysia digital forensics department head Aswami Fadillah Mohd Ariffin said that the police handed him 14 cellphones with their SIM cards, two additional SIM cards and two laptops on several occasions last year.

Police had instructed him to extract data from the items.

Aswami, 36, said that apart from extracting the data, he was also instructed in May this year to correlate the data with call logs obtained from telecommunications companies.

Asked by DPP Tun Abd Majid Tun Hamzah if the date and time of the extracted SMSes matched the phone logs perfectly, the witness replied that it was not a 100% match.

His testimony continues today.
