The Best Brand Award Goes To CyberSecurity Malaysia, Again

KUALA LUMPUR, 8 January 2010 - CyberSecurity Malaysia, the national cyber security specialist center has once again won the Best Corporate Brand Award in Cyber Security Category from 'The BrandLaureate - SMEs Chapter Awards 2009'. Receiving the Award for CyberSecurity Malaysia was its Chief Executive Officer, Lt. Col. Husin Jazri (Retired) at the prestigious gala dinner organized by the Asia Pacific Brands Foundation (APBF) in Kuala Lumpur, last night.

"This is not the first time for CyberSecurity Malaysia to receive The BrandLaureate - SMEs Chapter Award in Cyber Security Category. We are truly honored with the continuing recognition given to CyberSecurity Malaysia where we first won the Best Corporate Brand Award for 2008. Thus, winning the Best Corporate Brand Award for 2009 under the same category for two consecutive years marks yet another milestone for our organization's achievement. This further shows that the prestigious Branding organisation – the Asia Pacific Brands Foundation - truly recognises the growing importance of securing the cyberspace for Internet users. This has been one of our best achievements in the last three years when we started the rebranding exercise in 2007 from NISER to CyberSecurity Malaysia", said Lt. Col. Husin Jazri (Retired).

CyberSecurity Malaysia was previously known as NISER (National ICT Security and Emergency Response Centre), established in April 2001. NISER was later given additional mandates by the Government of Malaysia and was rebranded as CyberSecurity Malaysia. A not-for-profit organisation under the purview of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), CyberSecurity Malaysia was officially launched by the Prime Minister of Malaysia on 20th August, 2007.

"We are grateful and proud to be given this Award. We will be celebrating our 10th anniversary this year, and this is the kind of recognition, that promotes positive behaviour and hence motivates us to do more in the future. We strive to continuously improve our services in line with our mandate of securing the Malaysian cyberspace, and in support of the countries high-performance objectives", Husin added.
