KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 17 (Bernama) -- Local information and communication technology (ICT) developers can access international markets by certifying their products under the Common Criteria (ISO15408) via the Malaysia Common Criteria Evaluation and Certification Scheme (MyCC), CyberSecurity Malaysia said.

Acting chief executive officer, Zahri Yunos, said this was because the accreditation would ensure that a product comply with globally-accepted standards and assurance requirements, whereby CyberSecurity Malaysia was the authorised certification body for the scheme.

"So far we have certified 26 products and we hope by setting up a special pavilion in the coming Cyber Security Malaysia Awards, Conference and Exhibition (CSM-ACE) 2012, we can attract more local ICT developers to get their products certified," he told a media briefing on the conference here today.

The CSM-ACE 2012, with the theme, 'Cyber Security Risk and Compliance for Economic Transformation', aims to increase the awareness of mandatory compliance of information-security standards as well as providing a strategic platform for government agencies to get information on info-security standards.

The two-day event from Nov 6 this year, would form part of the National Transformation Programme under the Strategic Reform Initiative to conduct trade events and business match-making opportunities.
