Seminar on Online Business & Websites: Threats & Opportunities
 

This one day seminar was organised by CyberSecurity Malaysia in collaboration with Condition ZEBRA (ConZEBRA) to share the knowledge on the importance of information security and how the Malaysia Trustmark service could increase the confidence of entrepreneurs and businessmen in e-Business. A total of 119 participants attended this seminar. The speakers and the topics presented were as following:

b. Carrine Teoh, CyberSecurity Malaysia – “Online Business with Malaysia Trustmark”

CyberSecurity Malaysia’s visit to Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC)
 

CyberSecurity Malaysia’s management team made their maiden visit to Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) as part of the series of visits to ministries and government agencies. The visit was lead by CyberSecurity Malaysia Chairman YABhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Panglima Mohd Azumi Mohamed (Retired) accompanied by Chief Executive Officer Dr. Amirudin Abdul Wahab, Chief Operating Officer Mr. Zahri Yunos, Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Solahuddin Shamsuddin and 13 Vice Presidents, Head of Departments and Managers from CyberSecurity Malaysia.

MCMC Chairman YBhg. Dato’ Mohamed Sharil Mohamed Tarmizi together with his six top management members discussed government aspirations to strengthen cyber security of the nation. Both parties discussed the scope of cooperation between two agencies in combating cyber threats.

Workshop on Information Security Management System (ISMS) Implementation Audit
 

This workshop was jointly organised with National Security Council (MKN) in an effort to develop and implement a series of programs under National Cyber Security Policy (NCSP) initiative for agencies under Critical National Information Infrastructure (CNII). Focus of this workshop was to monitor the improvements achieved by selected agencies in preparing documentation pertaining to ISMS implementation. Agencies selected for this workshop include:

  1. Ministry of Works
  2. Royal Malaysian Customs Department
  3. Ministry of Woman, Family and Community Development
  4. Ministry of Rural an Regional Development
  5. Attorney General’s Chamber
  6. Ministry of Tourism and Culture
  7. Putrajaya Corporation
  8. Nilai Municipal Council
  9. National Higher Education Fund Corporation
  10. National Security Council
Visit by Royal Malaysian Navy Officers from KD Pelanduk to CyberSecurity Malaysia
 

The visit by Royal Malaysian Navy officers was to increase their knowledge on technology, cyber security quality management, cyber security capacity and capability development, cyber security research and evaluation of cyber security risks involving services of Royal Malaysian Navy. 31 officers from Royal Malaysian Navy participated in this visit. The delegates visited Digital Forensic and MyCERT lab facilities. This visit could pave the way for close collaboration between Royal Malaysian Navy and CyberSecurity Malaysia in the areas of cyber security.

Digital Forensic Training Program for Royal Malaysian Customs Officers (KDRM)
 

The objective of this training program was for knowledge sharing in the term of usage of terminologies and specific knowledge of each participant in the area of digital forensic. A total of 40 Royal Malaysian Customs Officers attended this program which covered topics such as below:

  1. Understanding digital forensic terminologies
  2. To know the digital forensic investigation methods and analysis.
  3. To know the current state of digital forensic technologies.
  4. To know how to obtain digital evidences at crime scenes
  5. To know the types of data that can be extracted from digital media

With this training program, participants will be able to apply their knowledge and increase their efficiency while carrying out their duties.

Visit from Software Engineering Students of University Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Perak
 

This visit exposed the students to the issues pertaining to Digital Forensic and MyCERT and to provide a better understanding of both the fields. 30 students participated in this visit.
