Hi-Tea with Media and Price Giving Ceremony for Poster and Video Design Competition and CyberSAFE e-Baca Quiz Organized by CyberSecurity Malaysia
 

Poster and Video design competition was held based on the Safer Internet Day 2013 theme – Online Rights & Responsibilities with the slogan “Connect with Respect”.

It was carried out over the course of four months beginning December 2012 to March 2013. The participants used current issues pertaining to cyber abuse such as Cyber Bullying, Cyber Stalking, Identity Theft, Online Scams and Child Cyber Grooming as the theme for their videos.

The competition was carried out online through CyberSecurity Malaysia’s social media platforms on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. 23 submissions on poster design and 25 submissions for video design were received from local school and university students.

Follow Up Visit by Digital Forensic Course Students
 

The visit by 28 participants was to provide an opportunity to take a closer look at the lab facilities that are available at CyberSecurity Malaysia and to give an explanation on Digital Forensic and MyCERT. This visit helped participants to understand and observe closely the incidents handled by Digital Forensic Department.

ISO/IEC 27001:2007 ISMS Lead Auditor Course
 

This program organised by National Security Council (MKN) in collaboration with CyberSecurity Malaysia developed and implemented a series of program under the initiative National Cyber Security Policy (NCSP) for Critical National Information Infrastructure (CNII). This program was developed with an objective to provide knowledge to selected CNII agencies to enable them to implement ISMS more effectively.

CyberSecurity Malaysia’s visit to MIMOS Bhd
 

Visit to MIMOS Bhd on 13th June 2013 was a homecoming to a certain degree as almost all the CyberSecurity officials in the visit had worked at MIMOS Bhd in the past. Chief Executive Officer Dr. Amirudin Abdul Wahab lead this visit with 10 officers to discuss on potential cooperation between both parties.

MIMOS Bhd’s Chief Operating Officer Mr. Abd Aziz Abd Kadir represented MIMOS Bhd’s Chief Executive Officer to chair the two hours long discussion. MIMOS Bhd presented their research outputs that can be offered to CyberSecurity Malaysia for joint commercialization.

Staff Retreat - Teambuilding
 

This activity was carried out at Institute Budaya Baru Malaysia, Kemensah, Hulu Kelang (IBBM) over two days and one night, participated by all of CyberSecurity Malaysia personnel. Among the objectives of this teambuilding is to foster closer relationship amongst CyberSecuirty Malaysia staff members, to reduce the communication gap amongst the staff as well as to inculcate spirit of closer teamwork to achieve the goal of creating peaceful and harmonious work environment. Team activities requiring teamwork, tolerance and understanding between the team members from various departments were organized throughout the program. As a result of this program it is hoped that CyberSecurity Malaysia staff members got to know each other as well as understand their respective fields of work.

Information Security Management System (ISMS) MS ISO/IEC 27001:2007 Implementation Course
 

This program organised by National Security Council (MKN) in collaboration with CyberSecurity Malaysia developed and implemented a series of program under the initiative National Cyber Security Policy (NCSP) for Critical National Information Infrastructure (CNII). This program was developed to monitor the progress by selected CNII agencies in implementing the preparation of ISMS documentation. List of agencies that participated in this program include:

CyberSecurity Malaysia’s visit to Bank Negara Malaysia
 

CyberSecurity Malaysia’s visit, lead by Chief Executive Officer Dr. Amirudin Abdul Wahab to Bank Negara Malaysia was received by Deputy Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia, Mr. Bakarudin Ishak. During the discussion Bank Negara expressed great interest to work togather to address online frauds and phising which involves the banking sector.

Certified Ethical Hacker Training (CEH)
 

The training program organised by EC-Council Academy Sdn Bhd was conducted for five days. Participants were given exposure and knowledge on mehthods to improve technical expertise in the field of cyber security. As a result of this training, participants will possess the ability to find, evaluate and analyze any potential or existing vulnerability issues on the computers.

This training provided exposure to several staff members of CyberSecurity Malaysia on network infrastucture integrity and penetration test.
