CyberSAFE in Schools Workshop for Bestari Coordination Teachers (CyberSAFE in Schools Powered by DiGi Telecommunication), Teachers Activity Centre Sibu, Sarawak
  1-2 July 2013
 

This two days workshop is the second phase of cyber security program with DiGi Telecommunications where two of Cyber Security Malaysia’s Outreach Department officers Ramona Susanty Abdul Hamid and Aaron Mokhtar were the facilitators. Bestari Coordination Teachers who participated in this workshop will in return organize a similar workshop with at least 100 students from their respective schools utilizing materials provided by CyberSecurity Malaysia.

The objective of this workshop is to highlight cyber security issues that effect individuals especially school children. This program also exposed the teachers to the potential danger and risks of revealing too much of personal information on social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Blogs As many as 21 teachers participated in this workshop which was held at Zone Sibu. The organizations involved include Education Technology Division of Ministry of Education Malaysia and DiGi Telecommunication Malaysia Workshops that were conducted with modules in English include:

1. Securing the human
  • Good online and social networking habits
   
2. Protecting privacy and personal information online
  • Guideline on Mobile Internet safety
   
3. Securing the device:
  • Hands on workshops on securing online information
  • Interactive learning aids and educational videos
   
4. Positive usage of internet
  • Assignments of finding resources online (eg. Wikipedia)


 
Visit by Information Technology Centre TD (PUSTEKMA TD), Army Headquarters, Wisma Pertahanan Jalan Padang Tembak, Kuala Lumpur to CyberSecurity Malaysia

  This visit involving 38 students of PUSTEKMA aimed at providing exposure in terms of cyber security as well as to observe the infrastructure and cyber security facilities available at CyberSecurity Malaysia.

During this visit, the participants were given an explanation on the functions of Digital Forensic Department and MyCERT Department as well as on the role of CyberSecurity Malaysia. As a result of this visit, the students obtained a better understanding of the cyber security incidents handled by CyberSecurity Malaysia through Digital Forensic Department and MyCERT Department.
 
Information Security Management System - ISMS MS ISO/IEC 27001:2007 Internal Auditor Course

CyberSecurity Malaysia in cooperation with National Security Council designed and implemented a program under Development of Capability and Capacity for Enforcement initiative for Critical National Information Infrastructure – CNII agencies.

Hence, a course on Information Security Management System – (ISMS) ISO/IEC 27001 : 2007 Internal Auditor was held from 2nd to 4th July 2013 at Bayview Hotel Georgetown Penang. 6 agencies participated in this workshop are as follows:

  1. Putrajaya Corporation
  2. Nilai Municipal Council
  3. University Malaya (UM)
  4. National Anti Drug Agency
  5. University Technology Mara (UiTM)
  6. Wildlife Protection Department and National Park
 
Official Launching Ceremony for Malaysia Trustmark for Private Sector (MTPS)

Launching ceremony of Malaysia Trustmark for Private Sector was held at Putrajaya International Conference Centre (PICC) on the 2nd to 3rd July 2013. The ceremony was graced by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of CyberSecurity Malaysia, General Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Panglima Mohd Azumi bin Mohamad (Retired)

Approximately 500 delegates from National Digital Conference attended this ceremony including recipients of Malaysia Trustmark as well as industry representatives invited by CyberSecurity Malaysia.

General Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Panglima Mohd Azumi bin Mohamad (Retired) also graciously awarded the certificate of appreciation to pioneer Malaysia Trustmark company who obtained Malaysia Trustmark certificate for registered e-commerce site. It was also held to appreciate their commitment and cooperation with Malaysia Trustmark Operators (MTO) and Trustmark Technical Security Assurance (TTSA) throughout this pioneering project period.

CyberSAFE Workshop in Schools for Bestari Coordination Teacher (CyberSAFE in Schools Powered by DiGi Telecommunication), Teachers Activity Centre Miri, Sarawak
  3 - 5 July 2013
 

Apart from Zone SIbu, a similar workshop was also held at Miri, Sarawak from 3rd to 5th July 2013 and was attended by 20 teachers. Similar to Zone Sibu, the teacher who participated in this workshop in Miri were also given the responsibility to carry out this workshop for the students at their respective schools using teaching materials prepared by CyberSecurity Malaysia.

 
Cyber Security Awareness Talk at Podium B Hall, Menara Ministry of Youth and Sports, Putrajaya

The talk organized by Ministry of Youth and Sports in conjunction with CyberSecurity Malaysia was aimed to provide exposure, knowledge and awareness on ICT security threats. Through this talk, the participants were given explanation on the basic misuse of Internet that impacts cyber security. 100 staff members of Ministry of Youth and Sports attended this talk which was held at Podium B Hall, Menara Ministry of Youth and Sports, Putrajaya

 
CyberSAFE in Schools Workshop for Bestari Coordination Teachers (CyberSAFE in Schools Powered by Digi Telecommunication), Teachers Activity Centre Pekan, Pahang
  8 -9 July 2013
 

This is the second phase of DiGi CyberSAFE program where Bestari Coordination Teachers who participated in this program were expected to carry out similar program at their respective schools using the teaching materials provided by CyberSecurity Malaysia A total of 16 teachers participated in this workshop. Three organizations, namely Education Technology Division, Ministry of Education Malaysia, CyberSecurity Malaysia and DiGi Telecommunication Malaysia came together to successfully organize this program.

 
ISMS Certification Closing Ceremony – Malaysia Airline System Berhad

Malaysia Airline System Berhad is now listed as an organization that had successfully obtained MS ISO/IEC 27001:2007 certification. The ISMS Certification closing ceremony was held and attended by top management of Malaysia Airlines lead by its Chief Executive Officer Mr. Ahmad Jauhari Yahya.

 
Meeting and Visit by Social Media Monitoring Technical Committee Volume 3 2013 at CyberSecurity Malaysia

This program was in line with the decision by the Central Committee on Social Media Monitoring for Public Officers that took place on 24th July 2013 to form a Technical Committee on Social Media Monitoring in Malaysia This was part of the efforts to strengthen the expertise and provide exposure to the young officers in the Technical Committee on Social Media Monitoring. Additionally, further discussions were held on the training programs that were to be made available. As many as 38 members of the committee attended this meeting to listen to explanations on function and role of CyberSecurity Malaysia as well as a visit to various CyberSecurity Malaysia labs. ISMS Certification closing ceremony for Ministry of Defense Malaysia was attended by top officials of Ministry of Defense Malaysia lead by Mdm Zaharah binti Ali, Division Secretary, Information Development Division, Ministry of Defense Malaysia.
