APRIL

On 24 April 2022, CyberSecurity Malaysia organised Kembara Amal CyberSAFETM with orphanage from Rumah Kebajikan Anak Yatim Bait Al Amin in AEON Station 18, Ipoh, Perak.

This program is one of the platforms for CyberSecurity Malaysia to share information and give exposure to the children of Bait Al-Amin, parents and guardians about cyber security ethics and foster their awareness on the importance of cyber security in everyday life.

52 orphans and the management of Rumah Bait Al Amin as well as students from Universiti Teknologi Petronas Malaysia (UTP) who are CyberSAFETM mentors, participated in this one day programme. Through this programme, CyberSecurity Malaysia in collaboration with UTP successfully inculcate cybersecurity knowledge to the youth group.

MAY

On 12 to 16 May 2022, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in Festival Guru Malaysia (FGM) 2022 at Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK), Bachok Campus, Kelantan Darul Naim.

Festival Guru Malaysia 2022 was held in conjunction with National Teachers' Day Celebration and organised by the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE).

FGM 2022 was officiated by the Senior Minister of Education, YB Senator Datuk Dr. Radzi Jidin. CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in cybersecurity exhibition and conducted online and board games. 60 students from Sekolah Menengah Maahad Tahfiz Bachok, Kelantan took part in CyberSAFETM Quest assisted by secretariats from Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK).

Through this program, CyberSecurity Malaysia promote its services and provide awareness to visitors on the importance of cybersecurity.

CyberSecurity Malaysia attended the Common Criteria Recognition Development Board - Executive Subcommittee (CCDB/ES) - Q2/2022 Meeting, online on 17 to 19 May 2022 organised by the Common Criteria Recognition Development Board - Executive Subcommittee.

This is a platform to discuss issues related to certification, Common Criteria standards and operations of CCRA members as well as the preparation for upcoming CCRA 2022 Annual Meeting to be held in November 2022.

Wan Shafiuddin Bin Zainudin, Head of Department and Hasnida Zainuddin, Senior Analyst from the Information Security Certification Department represented CyberSecurity Malaysia at this 4-days meeting.

CyberSecurity Malaysia as the Common Criteria Authorizing Country as well as national representative prove its ability and commitment in upholding international security standards on ICT products as well as promote government's initiative to assist local products gain recognition abroad and increase marketing opportunities.

On 18 May 2022, CyberSecurity Malaysia organised "KSA Descriptor Review" Workshop, online via Microsoft Teams. In this workshop, participants review and update the development of Cryptocurrency Seizing Officer KSA descriptor under Global ACE Certification.

This workshop organised by Cyber Security Professional Development Department was attended by experts from the academic sector, industry and government organisations.

Through this workshop, CyberSecurity Malaysia improve the quality of KSA Descriptor development for Global ACE Certification in line with industry requirements.

On 19 May 2022, CyberSecurity Malaysia 2021-2023 Organisational Anti-Corruption Plan (OACP) was launched by YBhg. Dato' Ts. Dr. Haji Amirudin Abdul Wahab FASc, Chief Executive Officer, CyberSecurity Malaysia and attended by 230 employees who also recited the anti-corruption pledge at Menara Cyber Axis, Cyberjaya.

This ceremony portrays CyberSecurity Malaysia's commitment in supporting the government's efforts to overcome weaknesses in the aspects of governance, integrity and corruption within organisations in line with mandatory initiatives in YAB PM Directive No. 1 Year 2018, Series 2 No. 1 Year 2019 – Article 6.1.2 - Strategy 6: Fostering Good Governance in Corporate Entities Within the NACP, which is the National Anti-Corruption Plan.

Through this launch ceremony, CyberSecurity Malaysia officially is the leading agency in cyber security with employees who practice integrity and are free from corruption.

CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in an exhibition in conjunction with “Jelajah Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia” (JAKM) program in Sabah. This three-day program took place at the Sabah International Convention Centre, Kota Kinabalu and was officiated by the Prime Minister, YAB Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob.

JAKM is held throughout Malaysia for people in each state to get direct information about government’s initiatives. In addition, JAKM is also a platform to publicize the manifestation and implementation of the government's continuous efforts in helping to ease the burden of the people on a nationwide basis.

At JAKM Sabah, CyberSecurity Malaysia exhibited information on its functions and roles and promoted MyCyberSecurity Clinic (MyCSC) service, a service covering Data Recovery, Data Sanitation and also advisory on issues related to cyber security and the Internet. CyberSecurity Malaysia also distributed corporate leaflets to visitors who visited the K-KOMM booth in addition to giving away corporate goodies as an attraction to the CyberSecurity Malaysia counter.

Through participation in this program, CyberSecurity Malaysia has been able to spread the word to the people of Sabah, especially the people of Kota Kinabalu about the services provided by CyberSecurity Malaysia.

On 23 May 2022, CyberSecurity Malaysia welcomed the delegates from Department of Broadcasting Malaysia (RTM) led by YBhg. Dato' Haji Che Roslan Che Daud, Director General alongside with Deputy Director General of the Department of Broadcasting Malaysian (Strategic), YBhg. Datuk Saidatu Akhma Hassan.

This visit is an initiative under the launch and the Kick Off Meeting of the Pilot Organisation Program Development Policy, Procedures and ISO 27001 ISMS and ISO 27701 PIMS CyberSecurity Malaysia 2022-2023 together with SAICT (ICT Application Section), Department of Broadcasting Malaysia.

The arrival of the delegation was welcomed by the Chief Executive Officer of CyberSecurity Malaysia, Dato' Ts. Dr. Haji Amirudin Abdul Wahab FASc who expressed his gratitude towards the delegates from RTM.

Through this visit, CyberSecurity Malaysia and Department of Broadcasting Malaysia further strengthen its relationship and cooperation for the development, implementation of Information Security System Policies, Procedures and Management (ISO 27001 ISMS) and Personal Information Security System Management (ISO 27701 PIMS) in accordance with international standards.

On 24 May 2022, CyberSecurity Malaysia and the Malaysian Road Safety Research Institute (MIROS) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) at MIROS PC3 Crash Lab, Ayer Molek, Melaka to enhance each other's knowledge, experience, capabilities and services related to the provision of road safety solutions and vehicle forensic science in conducting road accident investigations and reconstructions in Malaysia.

YBhg. Dato' Ts. Dr. Haji Amirudin Abd Wahab FASc, Chief Executive Officer represented CyberSecurity Malaysia while the Malaysian Road Safety Research Institute (MIROS) by YBhg. Dato' Dr. Khairil Anwar bin Abu Kassim, Director General of MIROS. The MoC signing ceremony was witnessed by YB Datuk Seri Ir. Dr. Wee Ka Siong Malaysian Transport Minister.

This MoC is beneficial to both parties as it combines the expertise of participated agencies to resolve road safety and vehicle forensic science in conducting investigation and reconstruction of road accidents in Malaysia.

On 25 May 2022, CyberSecurity Malaysia conducted a briefing session as well as a Cyber Security Empowerment Promotion Program Seminar (PGPKS) for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) through the ZOOM platform.

It aims to expose SMEs to current cyber security landscape in Malaysia as well as introduce PGPKS program implemented by CyberSecurity Malaysia.

Mohamed Anwer Mohamed Yusoff, Head of the Department of Industrial Relations & Cyber Security Cooperation delivered a welcome speech at this briefing session and seminar, attended by 30 SMEs from various industries.

Through this program, CyberSecurity Malaysia successfully promote the development of national and global cyber security industry and provide awareness towards participants to identify their business operations severity against cyber threats through PGPKS program.

On 27 May 2022, CyberSecurity Malaysia welcomed a visit from the Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, YB Datuk Seri Rina binti Mohd Harun.

CyberSecurity Malaysia highlight its role and function in the development of cyber security in the country, as well as its achievements after 25 years of its establishment, towards YB Minister and the delegation of the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM).

During the visit, YB Minister and the delegation visited cyber security laboratories and interacted with CyberSecurity Malaysia employees.

JUNE

On 2 to 4 June 2022, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in an exhibition in conjunction with Jelajah Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia (JAKM) program in Terengganu. The three-day program was held at the Terengganu State Sports Complex, Gong Badak, Kuala Nerus and officiated by YAB Dato 'Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob, Prime Minister.

JAKM is held throughout Malaysia and is a program to facilitate the people in each state to obtain direct information on government’s initiatives. JAKM is also a platform to publicize government's continuous efforts to ease the burden of the people throughout the country.

At JAKM Terengganu, CyberSecurity Malaysia displayed information on its functions and roles as well as promoted MyCyberSecurity Clinic (MyCSC) service covering Data Recovery, Data Sanitation and advisory services on issues related to cyber security and the Internet.

For public information, CyberSecurity Malaysia corporate brochures were also distributed to visitors at the K-KOMM exhibition apart from the provision of CyberSecurity Malaysia corporate "goodies" as an attraction to the exhibition space.

Through participation in this JAKM program, CyberSecurity Malaysia promote its services to the people of Terengganu, especially in Kuala Terengganu.

On 3 to 5 June 2022, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in an exhibition in conjunction with Riuh Bah! With Hotlink. The three-day program took place at Sabah International Convention Center (SICC) Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and officiated by YB Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima TPr Annuar Haji Musa, Minister of Communications and Multimedia. The RIUH program or Kembara RIUH Keluarga Malaysia is held throughout Malaysia and is a program to gather and highlight local arts and creative activists through activities such as pop-up stalls, food, creative workshops, music performances and cultural dances to further boost local socio-economic development.

At this program, CyberSecurity Malaysia showcase information on its functions and roles as well as promote CyberSAFETM program as well as MyCyberSecurity Clinic (MyCSC) services which include Data Recovery, Data Sanitation and advisory services on issues related to cyber security and the Internet.

Through this participation, CyberSecurity Malaysia introduce its to the local community in Sabah.

From 3 to 12 June 2022, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in Cryptocurrency Investigation and Forensics on job attachment in Canberra and Melbourne, Australia organised by the Australian Federal Police (AFP).

This is a platform to provide exposure to the officers on cryptocurrency investigation, forensics process and legal process related to this technology.

Sarah Khadijah Taylor, Manager of the Digital Forensics Department represented CyberSecurity Malaysia together with the Forensic Accounting and Cryptocurrency Criminal Investigation Division Officer, Commercial Crime Investigation Department (JSJK), Kuala Lumpur.

In this program, CyberSecurity Malaysia make disclosures on cryptotracing process, provision of Controlled Wallet, digital evidence preservation process at the scene of the incident as well as legal matters, contributing towards the development of cryptocurrency preservation policies and procedures at the scene.

On June 6 to 12, 2022 CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in Pesta Buku Antarabangsa Kuala Lumpur (PBAKL) 2022 at the World Trade Center (WTC), Kuala Lumpur, organised by the Malaysian Ministry of Education through the Malaysian National Book Council (MBKM) and was officiated by YAB Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob, the Prime Minister.

This is a platform for book publishers to promote, sell and launch their publications while fostering a culture of reading among Malaysians.

During the book festival, CyberSecurity Malaysia promote National ICT Security Discourse Competition (NICTSeD) 2022 through NICTSeD Alumni Talk by Farhan Syahmi (NICTSeD Alumni 2017) and Tan Wan Han (NICTSeD Alumni 2018).

Through this program, CyberSecurity Malaysia introduce and promote the organisation of NICTSeD 2022 to visitors consisting of parents, school students, students of higher learning institutions, educators and the general public.

On 7 June 2022, CyberSecurity Malaysia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pahang Skills Development Center (Pahang Skills) and Solaris Symphony Sdn Bhd (Solaris) at Menara Cyber Axis, Cyberjaya.

This signed memorandum includes a cyber security professional training program involving three parties as well as activities to promote competency training courses under the Global ACE Certification and CyberGURU programs in the East Coast area.

Dato' Ts. Dr. Haji Amirudin Abdul Wahab FASc, Chief Executive Officer represented CyberSecurity Malaysia while Pahang Skills was represented by Mr. Mohd Yusri bin Mohd Nor Executive Director while Solaris Symphony was represented by Mr. Mahadzir Bakar, Managing Consultant.

Through this signed MoU, CyberSecurity Malaysia establish Bilateral Cooperation in the Development of Cyber Security Capabilities to contribute to the increase of cyber security professional workforce in Malaysia.

On 9 June 2022, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in the 2022 National Protection Security Convention at Dewan Damar Sari, Putrajaya.

This convention is an initiative by the government to raise awareness on the importance of security and well-being of civil servants in today’s digital revolution.

The convention was inaugurated by YBhg. Tan Sri Dato' Seri Mohd Zuki Ali Chief, Secretary of State. CyberSecurity Malaysia promote its training programs in addition to displaying corporate information about the agency.

Through this program, CyberSecurity Malaysia empower the importance of cyber security that has the potential to threaten the public as well as foster awareness about the positive, ethical and responsible use of technology, especially among civil servants.

On 17 June 2022, National ICT Discourse Competition, the CyberSAFETM Challenge Cup 2022 or NICTSeD 2022 (Virtual Discourse) was launched virtually via ZOOM platform and widely broadcasted through the competition's official portal www.nictsed.my.

CyberSecurity Malaysia inform the public about the organisation of NICTSeD 2022 as well as explain thoroughly to the parties involved on the new format of the competition.

A total of 282 participants consisting of Head Coaches (JU) from each state attended the program alongside the Deputy Director of the Education Technology Integration Sector (BSTP), Tuan Haji Paridon bin Sahid and Lt Col Mustaffa Ahmad (Retired), Senior Vice President, Outreach and Corporate Communications Division from CyberSecurity Malaysia.

The organisation of this competition is a continuation of various activities implemented under the CyberSAFETM program to increase the level of public awareness on the importance of personal safety in cyberspace.

On 24 and 25 June 2022, CyberSecurity Malaysia organised a Career Day at the Cyber Axis Tower Hall, Cyberjaya to fill vacancies in CyberSecurity Malaysia as well as increase the its database (resume) for reference and future use.

A total of 300 applicants attended the two-day career day. They were interviewed by the representatives from participating departments and learned CyberSecurity Malaysia services.

Through the organisation of this program, CyberSecurity Malaysia created job opportunities for graduates and the public with aim to increase the number of experts in the field of cybersecurity.
