JULY

On 1 July 2022, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in Cyber ​​Security & Ethics Webinar through Webex organized by Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Jengka, Pahang.

This webinar is held to give exposure to students about cyber security according to the views of industry experts to meet teaching and learning syllabus at UiTM.

Zafreida Zahrullayali, Cyber ​​Security Professional Development Department Manager represented CyberSecurity Malaysia and discussed issues related to cyber security as well as measures to overcome these issues according to the latest industry perspective.

Through this webinar, CyberSecurity Malaysia provided exposure on the importance of cyber security to the students and lecturers.

On 1 to 3 July 2022, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in a 3-days exhibition in conjunction with Jelajah Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia (JAKM) program at Litar Dato' Sagor, Pasir Salak, Perak. It was inaugurated by the Prime Minister, YAB Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob.

JAKM is held throughout Malaysia and is a program for people in each state to gain information and assistance offered by the government.

At JAKM Perak, CyberSecurity Malaysia exhibited information on its functions and roles and promoted the MyCyberSecurity Clinic (MyCSC) service which are Data Recovery, Data Sanitation as well as introduction of the CyberSAFETM program and advisory on current issues related to cyber security and the Internet. CyberSecurity Malaysia corporate flyers were also distributed to visitors who visited the K-KOMM fair.

Through participation in this JAKM, CyberSecurity Malaysia has been able to spread the word to the people of Perak, especially Pasir Salak about the services provided by CyberSecurity Malaysia.

On 5 July 2022, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in the Electronic Evidence Examination and Analysis Training online through Webex organized by Institut Latihan Kehakiman dan Perundangan (ILKAP).

This training program was held to assess participants' level of knowledge about various aspects of electronic evidence as well as improve their skills in handling cases related to electronic evidence.

Ts. Mohd Zabri Adil Talib, Head of the Digital Forensic Department (DF) represented CyberSecurity Malaysia at the webinar and delivered a presentation entitled "Electronic Evidence: Examination and Analysis".

Through participation in this program, CyberSecurity Malaysia has been able to give participants exposure on techniques of processing, analyzing and testing electronic and digital evidence.

On 22 to 24 July 2022, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in a 3 days exhibition in conjunction with Jelajah Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia (JAKM) program at Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium Grounds, Kota Bharu, Kelantan and was officiated by the Prime Minister, YAB Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob.

JAKM is a program for people in every state to get direct information about assistance and plans offered by the government.

At JAKM Kelantan, CyberSecurity Malaysia promoted its services and distributed leaflets in addition to organizing CyberSAFE Quest and Cyber ​​Spontaneous activities.

Through participation in this JAKM program, CyberSecurity Malaysia has been able to spread the word to the people of Kelantan, Kota Bharu about the services provided by CyberSecurity Malaysia.

On 25 July 2022, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in the Cyber ​​Crime Security Awareness Forum at Sky Hotel Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

This program organized by the Sabah Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (KSTI) was attended by more than 70 participants from various agencies under KSTI including the Sabah State Computer Services Department (JPKN), Sabah Net, Sabah Skills and Technology Centre, Sabah State Library, Development Department Human Resources and Sabah Creative Economy and Innovation Centre.

Jazannul Azriq bin Aripin, Senior Executive, Outreach and Corporate Communications Department represented CyberSecurity Malaysia as a panel in the forum.

This forum has created an opportunity for CyberSecurity Malaysia to promote its services in addition to increasing the level of cyber security awareness among public servants in the State of Sabah.

AUGUST

On 3 August 2022, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in Cyber ​​Crime Prosecution Course organized by the Institut Latihan Kehakiman dan Perundangan (ILKAP) in Cyberjaya, Selangor.

This course exposed participants to the prosecution of cybercrime cases in Malaysia, in addition to improving their knowledge and skills on investigation techniques.

CyberSecurity Malaysia was represented by Ts. Mohd Zabri Adil Talib, Head of the Digital Forensics Department as the instructor and the course was attended by 32 government officials from various agencies.

Through the organization of this course, CyberSecurity Malaysia has been able to provide comprehensive exposure on digital forensic examination and analysis in the prosecution of cybercrime cases as well as the use of electronic evidence in the prosecution of cybercrime cases.

CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in the RIUH Melaka program organized by MyCreative Venture with the support of the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (K-KOMM) on 6 to 9 August 2022 at Dataran Pahlawan, Melaka.

RIUH responds to the government’s effort to recover the country from the effects of COVID-19 pandemic. At this program, art and creative industry activists promoted their artwork and handicrafts in addition to boosting local socio-economic development. Various activities are carried out throughout the program such as pop-up stalls, food, creative workshops, music performances, cultural dances and exhibitions from agencies under K-KOMM.

CyberSecurity Malaysia exhibited its products and services and conducted Cyber ​​Spontaneous and interactive games to foster public awareness on the importance of cyber security.

Among the guests of honor were YAB Datuk Seri Utama Haji Sulaiman bin MD Ali, Chief Minister of Malacca and YB Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima TPr Annuar Haji Musa, Minister of Communications and Multimedia (MenKOMM).

On 9 August 2022, CyberSecurity Malaysia and the Malaysian Broadcasting Department (RTM) signed a Pilot Organization Program Development of Policies, Procedures and ISO 27001 ISMS and ISO 27701 PIMS Certification for the period 2022-2023.

This collaboration is an initiative to develop and implement Information Security System Policies, Procedures and Management (ISO 27001 ISMS) and Personal Information Security System Management (ISO 27701 PIMS) according to international standards.

CyberSecurity Malaysia is represented by the Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Ts. Dr. Haji Amiruddin Abdul Wahab FASc while RTM was represented by its Director General, Dato’ Haji Che Roslan bin Che Daud.

Through this collaboration, CyberSecurity Malaysia has been able to start a pilot program in line with National Cyber ​​Security Policy (NCSP) vision to strengthen security and privacy of personal information.

On 12 to 23 August 2022, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in the Karnival Merdeka Keluarga Malaysia @ Padang Besar at Uniciti Alam Campus, Sg. Chuchuh, University of Malaysia Perlis (UNIMAP), Padang Besar, Perlis.

The carnival is organized by the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (K-KOMM) to disseminate Keluarga Malaysia aspirations with Padang Besar community, fueling the celebration of Bulan Kebangsaan 2022 as well as a platform for delivering latest information about K-KOMM. At this carnival, CyberSecurity Malaysia exhibited CyberSAFETM services and programs to the public and conducted Cyber Spontan and other interactive games to foster cyber security awareness and community well-being.

YB Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin, Deputy Minister of Communications & Multimedia Malaysia officiated this carnival participated by various K-KOMM agencies, including the Information Department (JaPen), Communications and Multimedia Commission (SKMM), MDEC, MyNIC, FINAS, RTM and BERNAMA.

On 19 to 21 August 2022, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in a 3 day exhibition in conjunction with Jelajah Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia (JAKM) at Dataran Karnival, Pekarangan Stadium Shah Alam, Selangor. This program was inaugurated by the Prime Minister, YAB Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob.

JAKM, held throughout Malaysia is a program for people in each state to get direct information about government’s assistance and plans. JAKM is also a platform to promote government’s continuous effort in helping the people nationwide.

At JAKM Selangor, CyberSecurity Malaysia exhibited information on its functions and roles and promoted MyCyberSecurity Clinic (MyCSC) service covering Data Recovery, Data Sanitation and also advisory services on issues related to Internet security.

Through participation in this JAKM program, CyberSecurity Malaysia provided guidance on the use of technology among the public in line with the efforts to combat increasing cyber threats in Malaysia.

On August 19, 2022, CyberSecurity Malaysia organized Majlis Doa Selamat, Kesyukuran & Tahlil with a Forum entitled "Warga Cemerlang, CyberSecurity Malaysia Terbilang” in conjunction with its 25 years Silver Jubilee celebration.

This program held on the eve of the silver jubilee celebration was held to express gratitude for CyberSecurity Malaysia achievements and recognition achieved throughout its 25 years of the establishment in an effort to strengthen nation's cyber security ecosystem. In addition, this spiritual forum led by distinguished panels aim to inspire CyberSecurity Malaysia staff to continue to excel, be enthusiastic and more confident towards achieving the goal of improving infrastructure and the well-being of Malaysia’s cyber space.

The panelists are Associate Prof. Dato' Dr. Mohd Izhar Ariff Bin Mohd Kashim from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Associate Professor Dr. Sharifah Hayaati Syed Ismail from Universiti Malaya (UM) while the moderator is Encik Shahril Bin Sarapuddin from RTM.

The ceremony was attended by General Tan Sri Dato' Sri (Dr.) Haji Zulkifeli Bin Mohd. Zin (Retired), Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dato' Ts. Dr Haji Amirudin Abdul Wahab, Chief Executive Officer, CyberSecurity Malaysia, members of the Board of Directors, senior management and CyberSecurity Malaysia staff.

On 25 August 2022, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in Crypto Currency Confiscation workshop at Menara Seri Wilayah Putrajaya organized by the National Financial Crime Prevention Center (NFCC) to present and review Cryptocurrency Confiscation Policy and Procedures draft in an effort to develop Blockchain policies.

CyberSecurity Malaysia was represented by Ts. Mohd Zabri Adil Talib, Head of the Digital Forensics Department who was joined by 30 representatives from various Law Enforcement agencies. He delivered a presentation on the Policy and Procedures draft for the Seizure of Cryptocurrencies developed by CyberSecurity Malaysia.

Through this workshop, CyberSecurity Malaysia has been able to collaborate with all law enforcement agencies in preparing themselves to face the challenges of Blockchain technology.

On 25 August 2022 CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in the Digital Evidence and Cryptocurrency Handling Procedures Course at Sekolah Latihan Asas Kepolisan (SLAK) in Sungai Petani, Kedah.

This course is organized by the Forensic Accounting Investigation/Cryptocurrency Criminal Investigation Division, Commercial Crime Investigation Department, Bukit Aman as an initiative to expose trainees on the handling of digital and crypto currency and.

CyberSecurity Malaysia was represented by Muhammad Muzammil Bin Abdul Rashid and Muhammad Iskandar Shah Bin Abdul Aziz, Digital Forensic Analysts with other 29 members of the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM).

Through participation in this course, CyberSecurity Malaysia has been able to provide exposure to the Police on Digital Evidence and Cryptocurrency Handling Procedures and strengthen cooperation between the two parties.

SEPTEMBER

On 11 September 2022 CyberSecurity Malaysia attended Majlis Konvokesyen Politeknik Mersing Kali Ke-10 at Dewan Permata Marjan, Politeknik Mersing Johor. This ceremony was officiated by YB Norlizah Binti Noh, Chairman of the Johor State Education, Information and Communication representing YAB Menteri Besar of Johor.

Dato Ts Dr Haji Amirudin Abdul Wahab, Chief Executive Officer represented CyberSecurity Malaysia and presented Special Industry Award to outstanding students under the Global ACE Certification program worth RM5,000.

CyberSecurity Malaysia's participation in this program has strengthened cooperative relationships with IPTAs and the Department of Polytechnic Education and Community Colleges (JPPKK) in addition to empowering local community through TVET thus supporting Government's efforts to improve Keluarga Malaysia standard of living.

On 13 September 2022 CyberSecurity Malaysia and MX Global Sdn Bhd signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration includes initiatives to improve cryptocurrency technology and Digital Asset Exchanges (DAXes).

CyberSecurity Malaysia is represented by the Chief Executive Officer, Dato' Ts. Dr. Haji Amiruddin Abdul Wahab while MX Global Sdn Bhd was represented by the Chief Executive Officer, Dato' Fadzli Shah Anuar.

This MoU will increase the level of awareness among Malaysians about assurance, cyber risk assessment and cyber risk threat management in addition to facilitating cyber resilience from the aspect of digital asset exchange in Malaysia.

On 15 and 16 September 2022, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in " 4th Cybersecurity Innovation Summit 2022" in the Republic of Tunisia organized by the Agence Nationale de la Sécurité Informatique en Tunisie (ANSI).

It is a platform to raise awareness of the importance of 5G security, develop a 5G security framework for risk assessment and management and develop standards for member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Ts. Mohd Shamir Hashim, Senior Vice President, International and Government Affairs Division represented CyberSecurity Malaysia, delivered a presentation entitled "OIC-CERT 5G Security Framework" and became a Moderator in the panel discussion.

Participation in this program has given CyberSecurity Malaysia the opportunity to expand its relationship with various countries in addition to promoting CyberSecurity Malaysia at the international level.

CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in RIUH SOKMO! Bersama Celcom organized by the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (K-KOMM) supported by MyCreative Venture on 16 to 18 August 2022 at Mini Stadium, Ketereh, Kelantan.

RIUH SOKMO! Was held specifically for the people of Kelantan to respond to the government's efforts who are concerned and committed to recovering the country from the challenges and effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Art and creative industry activists are given the opportunity to promote their artworks and handicrafts to boost local socio-economic development. Various activities are carried out throughout the program such as pop-up stalls, food, creative workshops, traditional Kelantan games, music performances and exhibitions from agencies under K-KOMM.

At this program, CyberSecurity Malaysia exhibited its products and services and conducted CyberSAFETM Quest activity involving 40 students from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Kadok and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Kg. Cengal in Ketereh to foster public awareness on the importance of cyber security.
