Message from the CEO
Regards and Salam 1 Malaysia.
The year has produced some very exciting developments at CyberSecurity Malaysia.
With the increase in the adoption of emerging applications for business and personal communications, we will expect to see more targeted attacks and socially engineered scams via mobile devices to gain access to corporate and personal data in view of threats coming from cyber espionage and fraud. Cyber999 Help Centre continues to play its role in providing emergency response to computer security related emergencies and assistance in handling incidents as well as providing advisories and assistance to law enforcement agencies.

With such rapidly changing, dynamic nature of cyber threats, the compliance with MS ISO/IEC 27001:2007 Information Security Management System is extremely crucial to protect our Critical National Information Infrastructure (CNII) and necessitates close collaboration with the private sector. Through the Malaysia Common Criteria (MyCC) Scheme, CyberSecurity Malaysia will ensure that ICT security solutions and products particularly those used by CNII are trusted. In creating awareness and sharing knowledge to the public on the risk of cyber-attacks, CyberSecurity Malaysia will continue to run more programmes to educate the masses on how to stay safe when accessing the Internet.
With cyber threats getting more sophisticated and complicated, the challenge for CyberSecurity Malaysia will be to keep abreast of technological developments and stay ahead of these threats by taking proactive measures and collaborating with other government agencies, the academia, private sector and relevant bodies.
We hope you find our Newsletter both informative and fun. On behalf of the entire CyberSecurity Malaysia team, we thank you once again for your continued commitment and partnership.
We look forward to providing more exciting news and updates in the coming months.
Thank you.
Dr. Amirudin Abdul Wahab
