Greetings. Here we are, in the third edition of CyberNEWS 2016.
In the First and Second Quarter, CyberSecurity Malaysia already conducted various programs and activities to expose cyber security in Malaysia and also internationally, in line with Government's mandate. Hence, CyberSecurity Malaysia managed to sustain its credibility as a key player in the field of cyber security in Malaysia.
In this third quarter of 2016, CyberSecurity Malaysia received overwhelmed recognitions. CyberSecurity Malaysia was invited to expand its network and share its expertise in numerous talks, conferences and colloquiums on cyber security, organized by foreign organizations. Opportunities like these enable CyberSecurity Malaysia to also promote its capabilities and range of services offered.
CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in several programs as follow; Cybersecurity Alliance for Mutual Progress (CAMP) 2016 & Cybersecurity Training Course (Incident Response) in South Korea, Science and Information (SAI) Computing Conference 2016 in United Kingdom, the 8th ASEAN Forensic Society Network (FSN) Annual Meeting & Symposium in Thailand, the US-Singapore Third Country Training Programme on CyberSecurity for ASEAN Countries in Singapore, 10th European Conference on Information Systems Management (CISM) in Portugal, the 2nd China-ASEAN Information Harbor Forum in China, Southeast Asia Regional Workshop on countering Radical to Violence Over the Internet and CODEBALI Security Conference in Indonesia.
Apart from delivering presentations, Cyber Security Malaysia took part in the forum to broaden its knowledge by exchanging views with foreign experts in order to address cyber crimes.
Nonetheless, CyberSecurity Malaysia was honored to welcome series of visits from local and foreign organizations. These delegates visited CyberSecurity Malaysia laboratory and was introduced to various facilities and services it offers.
As a national cyber security technical expert agency, CyberSecurity Malaysia is highly committed to raise awareness on the importance of cyber security among the public. It took the initiatives to organize workshops and courses, not only for the public, also for its staff. Indeed, this is a step to formulate strategy to prevent and combat cyber threats in the future.
In this quarter too, CyberSecurity Malaysia organized National ICT Security Discourse: CyberSAFE Challenge Cup 2016 (NICTSeD), Malaysia's first national ICT security school discourse targeted at secondary school students. This discourse was held in Marang, Terengganu and its objective is to encourage creative and critical thinking of its participants on the current internet and technological issues
CyberSecurity Malaysia aspires to sustain its credibility as a prime national cyber security technical expert agency in Malaysia and also South East Asia.
