Assalamualaikum and Salam Sejahtera. Here we are, in the third edition of CyberNEWS 2017.
In the First and Second Quarter, CyberSecurity Malaysia has implemented and participated in various cyber security programs locally and internationally to ensure the safety and welfare of the country, particularly in cyberspace. In addition, CyberSecurity Malaysia’s active participation and its expertise and skills in the field of cyber security is recognized globally.
While we are approaching the end of 2017, cyber security is still a threat to the world. Even though, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is rapidly becoming more dynamic and highly sophisticated, it eventually opens doors to cyber criminals to pursue their agenda on cyber threats.
In 2017 also, the first CyberSAFE Dialogue took place in September. It officially becomes an annual event for CyberSecurity Malaysia as the program welcomes plentiful positive feedbacks and benefits many parties as they were able to understand thoroughly and identify emerging issues regarding cyber security and find solutions to respond to cyber threat.
Meanwhile, MIT Korea, Myung Malaysia and CyberSecurity Malaysia also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). All three parties agreed to continue exchanging technical views and knowledge as well as transfer of technology to streamline the provision of specialist training programs as well as digital forensics hardware fittings to MyCyberSecurity Clinic (MyCSC). This will increase the technical capability and expertise of CyberSecurity Malaysia in the field of digital forensics in Malaysia especially in data recovery.
Cyber security agenda will continue to top our priority in CyberSecurity Malaysia. Thus, the agency will increase its commitment to ensure quality services related to cyber security in order to protect national security against cybercrime.
We foresee that CyberSecurity Malaysia’s active participation in various cyber security programs will maintain its position as a premier organization to lead cyber security industry in Malaysia and in the Southeast Asian region.
Thank you. Dato' Dr. Haji Amirudin Abdul Wahab Chief Executive Officer, CyberSecurity Malaysia |
