Message from CEO

Salam Sejahtera.

This is the third edition of CyberSecurity Malaysia, CyberNEWS 2018. This e-newsletter is an avenue for us to share the activities and programs which CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in July, August and September this year.

CyberSecurity Malaysia is committed in ensuring continuous development of the cyber security industry in Malaysia. Upon the mandate given by the Government, we continue to empower this industry that is now the backbone of Malaysia’s development and to realize the vision of becoming a developed nation.

In this third quarter, CyberSecurity Malaysia actively engaged in capacity building and skill enhancement programs as well as conferences and seminars locally and internationally. We managed to approach the youngsters to educate them to use technology responsibly and find information on the Internet efficiently via CyberSAFE program.

CyberSecurity Malaysia also took part in several conferences. We were the local host for Critical Infrastructure Protection and Resilience Asia Conference (CIPRA) 2018 in Kuching, Sarawak and collaborated with the Malaysian Cryptology Research Society for the sixth time to organize the International Cryptology and Information Security Conference (Cryptology) 2018 in Negeri Sembilan. We also presented at Cybersecurity Summer Bootcamp 2018 in Spain; International Conference On Cybersecurity Governance (ICCG 2018) in Sweden; China Internet Security Conference 2018 (ISC 2018) and; Asian Forensic Society Network (AFSN) Annual Meeting and Symposium Forum in China; ASEAN E-Financial Inclusion Forum in Kuala Lumpur and India Cyber Security Dialogue in India.

In September, CyberSecurity Malaysia successfully organized its annual event that is the 10th Cyber Security Malaysia - Awards, Conference & Exhibition (CSM-ACE) 2018 in Royal Chulan Kuala Lumpur. During this event, other activities that were held are the Final Competition of National ICT Security Discourse - CyberSAFE Challenge Trophy (NICTSeD) 2018 and Malaysia Cyber Security Awards 2018.

In conjunction with Cyber Security Professional Development Discourse entitled "Regulating Cyber Security Professionals Towards The Industrial Revolution 4.0" we organized the Pre-Launch of the Global Accredited Cybersecurity Education Scheme (Global ACE Scheme) Certification Scheme. This scheme, which aims to accredit cyber security practitioners for their skills, is recognized by the Malaysian Institute of Technology (MBOT).

Once again, we are able to contribute our knowledge and experiences in many cyber security programs in this quarter. CyberSecurity Malaysia look forward to consolidate our position as a recognized leader in cyber security field in Malaysia as well as well as in the international arena.

Thank you.
