Collaboration Meeting Between CyberSecurity Malaysia And Politeknik Mersing Johor (PMJ), Mersing, Johor, Mersing, Johor

 

On 2 September 2020, CyberSecurity Malaysia and Politeknik Mersing Johor (PMJ) conducted a Collaboration Meeting in Mersing, Johor. The meeting was organised to coordinate the implementation of Lebahnet Research program as well as the Global Accredited Cybersecurity Education (ACE) Certification program.

It was attended by Ts. Dr. Zahri Yunos, Chief Operating Officer, CyberSecurity Malaysia together with a few lecturers from Politeknik Mersing Johor.

From this meeting, CyberSecurity Malaysia managed to establish collaboration on Lebahnet research and promote Global ACE Certification program to public institute of higher learning.

Cyber Security And Defense Seminar, Kem Sungai Buloh, Shah Alam, Selangor

 

On 6 to 8 September 2020, CyberSecurity Malaysia organised the Cyber Security and Defense Seminar which was held at the Kem Sungai Buloh, Shah Alam, Selangor.

The jointly organised seminar between CyberSecurity Malaysia and Rejimen 502 Askar Wataniah Negeri Selangor cultivated a strong and comprehensive cyber security culture especially in defense and security sectors.

The CyberSecurity Malaysia delegation was led by Mr. Sazali Sukardi, Senior Vice President, Strategic Studies Division with participation of the Department of Strategic Studies and Advisory Services.

Through this seminar, CyberSecurity Malaysia has successfully provided exposure to participants on cyber security and managed to strengthen the relationship between stakeholders in the field of cyber security defense.

NeXGen SOC Launch Ceremony, Heitech Padu With CyberSecurity Malaysia And RSA Security, Cyber Axis Tower, Cyberjaya

 

On 8 September 2020, Heitech Padu in collaboration with CyberSecurity Malaysia and RSA Security launched Nexgen Soc at Menara Cyber Axis, Cyberjaya.

The event was part of CyberSecurity Malaysia’s initiative under the CyberSecurity Collaboration Program (CCP) to drive and develop the local cyber security industry.

Dato' Ts. Dr. Haji Amirudin Abdul Wahab, Chief Executive Officer, CyberSecurity Malaysia officiated the event which was attended by over 50 industry partners and 10 media partners. Heitech Padu Berhad and RSA Security also conducted product demonstrations followed by the launch of NeXGen SOC.

Throughout this event, CyberSecurity Malaysia created opportunities for industry partners to collaborate in potential areas, especially in information security and the development of cybersecurity-related programmes in this programme.

First Session Standard Evaluation Committee Meeting (JTPS1) For National Occupational Skills And Standards (NOSS) In Digital Forensics For First Responder, Putrajaya

 

On 9 September 2020, First Session Standard Assessment Committee (JTPS1) Meeting for National Occupational Skills And Standards (NOSS) In Digital Forensics For First Responder (DFFR) was held at Marriot Hotel Putrajaya.

The jointly organised meeting by CyberSecurity Malaysia and Department of Skills Development (JPK) is to evaluate and verify the first draft of the NOSS DFFR employment standard development document.

14 participants from government agencies, industries and public universities attended the meeting which was officiated by Encik Yuslan bin Yasok, Principal Assistant Director, Department of Skills Development. CyberSecurity Malaysia team was led by Ts. Dr. Zahri Yunos, Chief Operating Officer of CyberSecurity Malaysia.

Throughout this meeting, CyberSecurity Malaysia has successfully strengthened ties with organisations as well as established comprehensive certification in cybersecurity field.

Occupational Framework Technical Security Committee Meeting, Putrajaya

 

On 10 September 2020, the Occupational Framework Technical Committee Meeting on Cyber Security was held at the Marriot Hotel Putrajaya.

Jointly organised by CyberSecurity Malaysia and Department of Skills Development (JPK), the meeting was held to evaluate and verify first draft of the Occupational Framework development document in cybersecurity.

11 participants from the government agencies, industries and public universities attended the meeting which was officiated by Encik Abdul Karim Bin Rahman, Principal Assistant Director of Skills Development Department. CyberSecurity Malaysia team was led by Ts. Dr. Zahri Yunos, Chief Operating Officer of CyberSecurity Malaysia.

The meeting agreed on two outcomes of the project which were the study on the position of cybersecurity in MSIC 2008 and the development of Occupational Framework for cybersecurity.

The meeting has strengthened CyberSecurity Malaysia relationship with organisations involved in cybersecurity industry as well as created comprehensive certifications in the field of cybersecurity.

National Occupational Skills And Standards (NOSS) In Digital Forensics For First Responder Development Workshop, Putrajaya

 

On 12 to 13 September 2020, CyberSecurity Malaysia organised National Occupational Skills and Standards (NOSS) Development Workshop in Digital Forensics for First Responders at Marriot Hotel Putrajaya.

The workshop was held to review and identify the DFFR curriculum. It also determined the equipment and hardware of materials related to DFFR besides finalising the distribution of curriculum percentage in DFFR teaching process.

10 participants comprising panel of experts, observers, facilitators and representatives from the Department of Skills Development attended this workshop.

Through this meeting, CyberSecurity Malaysia strengthened its cooperation with organisations directly involved with the industry as well as created comprehensive certification in cyber security field.

Cloud Computing Security Training, Cyber Axis Tower, Cyberjaya

 

On 14 to 17 September 2020, the Cloud Computing Security training program was held at Menara Cyber Axis, Cyberjaya, Selangor.

The training which was organised by CyberSecurity Malaysia is to cultivate technical knowledge and skills in the field of security for cloud computing technology as well as discuss defence strategies for protection on cloud computing.

10 participants from five agencies participated in the training. Participants were exposed on the method to identify important aspects of cloud computing technology and determine techniques through security assessment.

This training provided an opportunity to CyberSecurity Malaysia to expose the CNII and government agencies on the security requirements of cloud computing technology as well as empowering participants' competencies to strengthen cybersecurity.

Occupational Framework Development Workshop In The Cyber Security Field, Putrajaya

 

On 19 to 20 September 2020, CyberSecurity Malaysia organised Cyber Security Occupational Framework development workshop at Marriot Hotel Putrajaya.

The workshop was an extension of the first session held to develop Cyber Security Occupational Framework (OF). This workshop session focused on identifying the necessary in the field of cybersecurity.

12 participants comprising a panel of experts, observers and facilitators as well as representatives from JPK participated in this workshop.

This workshop has strengthened CyberSecurity Malaysia cooperation with organisations directly involved with the industry as well as created comprehensive certification in cybersecurity field, in this workshop.

MYCC Open Day 2020 - Cyber Security Evaluation And Certification Services For The Digital Economy Era, Menara Cyber Axis, Cyberjaya

 

On 22 September 2020, CyberSecurity Malaysia organised MYCC Open Day 2019 : Cyber Security Evaluation And Certification Services For The Digital Economy Era at Menara Cyber Axis, Cyberjaya.

MyCC Open Day was organised to create awareness on IEC/ISO 15408 Common Criteria in line with the Government initiative to implement a standard to procure Government Information Communication and Technology security product.

90 participants from 49 organisations including representative from public and private sectors attended the seminar. Ts. Dr. Solahuddin Shamsuddin, Chief Technology Officer of CyberSecurity Malaysia delivered an opening remarks entitled "Cyber Security During The Pandemic – Our Experience".

Through this seminar, CyberSecurity Malaysia successfully obtained inputs to understand the organisation and Critical National Information Infrastructure agencies’ requirements through a panel discussion session.

Workstream 14 (WS14) Cybersecurity Digital Economy Task Force (DETF) Meeting, Menara Cyber Axis, Cyberjaya

 

On 22 September 2020, Cybersecurity Digital Economy Task Force (DETF) Meeting was held at Cyber Axis Tower, Cyberjaya.

The meeting that was organised by CyberSecurity Malaysia is to propose and formulate initiatives, cybersecurity plans under WS14 and submit the Workstream Periodic Report to the DETF Secretariat (MDEC and KKMM) on the status of implementation of WS14 activities.

17 representatives from the government agencies and industries attended the meeting chaired by Dato' Ts. Dr. Haji Amirudin Abdul Wahab, Chief Executive Officer, CyberSecurity Malaysia.

From the meeting, CyberSecurity Malaysia managed to gather feedback and the outcomes is presented at the Digital Economy Task Force Main Meeting chaired by YB Dato' Saifuddin Abdullah, Minister of Communications and Multimedia, as well as YB Khairy Jamaluddin, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation.

Asia Pacific Computer Emergency Response Team (APCERT) 2020 Annual General Meeting

 

On 29 September 2020, Asia-Pacific Computer Emergency Response Team (APCERT) Annual General Meeting was virtually organised via Cisco Webex application.

The Annual General Meeting which was organised by Japan Computer Emergency Response Team Coordination Center (JPCERT/CC) is an annual activity to deliberate the APCERT policies, operations and strategic direction with its members.

General Tan Sri Dato' Sri Panglima Mohd Azumi bin Mohamed (Retired), Chairman, Board of Directors, CyberSecurity Malaysia led CyberSecurity Malaysia delegates and delivered the opening speech.

During this meeting, CyberSecurity Malaysia was reappointed by APCERT members as the Chair of APCERT for the duration of 2020 - 2021. In addition, Malaysia also leade APCERT Malware Mitigation Working Group.

Smart Card Reader Security Training, Cyber Axis Tower , Cyberjaya

 

On 28 to 30 September 2020, Smart Card Reader Security Training was organised at Menara Cyber Axis, Cyberjaya.

The training that was organised by CyberSecurity Malaysia is to share information and technical skills in the field of security towards smart card reader technology from security analyst perspective.

12 participants from five agencies participated in the training that exposed them on the method to identify assets in smart card readers and determine the appropriate techniques in the manner of safety assessment.

CyberSecurity Malaysia has successfully exposed CNII and government agencies on security requirements on smart card technology and hardware as well as empowering participants' competencies to strengthen cybersecurity in this training.
