1.0 Introduction
Recently, Ivanti has released security updates to address an actively exploited vulnerability (CVE-2026-104935) in Ivanti Connect Secure (ICS).
2.0 Impact
Successful exploitation may allow a remote attacker without privileges to execute arbitrary commands on the appliance, with low complexity and no user interaction. CISA reports that threat actors are exploiting the flaw for credential theft and data exfiltration. Volexity reported that a threat actor it tracks as UTA0576 has chained this vulnerability with other flaws since at least 3 October to achieve unauthenticated root-level code execution on fully patched devices, and that Ivanti is still working on a fix for a privilege escalation flaw used in the same chain. The Integrity Checker Tool may not detect exploitation because the attacker’s commands execute in memory.
3.0 Affected Products
- Ivanti Connect Secure 25.1.1.1 and prior
- Ivanti Connect Secure 25.1.2.2 and prior
- Ivanti Connect Secure 22.8R2.4 and prior
4.0 Recommendation
CyberSecurity
Malaysia encourages users and administrators to review the following Ivanti
security advisory and apply the necessary updates. Ivanti lists 25.1.1.2,
25.1.3.0, 25.1.3.1 and 22.8R2.5 as resolved versions. Administrators on 22.8.x
should move to 25.1.1.2 or later where possible, and otherwise apply 22.8R2.5.
ICS 22.8 reaches end of life on 31 January 2027. Ivanti has stated it has no
reliable indicators of compromise, so organisations that suspect exploitation
should follow Ivanti’s recovery instructions. Organisations should also review
authentication and appliance logs for unusual activity, and reset credentials
stored on or passing through affected appliances if compromise is suspected.
