1.0 Introduction
Recently, the PHP development team has released security updates to address two CVEs tracked as CVE-2025-1735 and CVE-2025-6491 in PHP.
2.0 Impact
If PHP fails to detect and handle NULL return values, this will lead to potential SQL injection if input is not properly escaped and Null pointer dereference crashes (undefined behaviour).
3.0 Affected Products
- PHP 8.1.x versions prior to 8.1.33
- PHP 8.2.x versions prior to 8.2.29
- PHP 8.3.x versions prior to 8.3.23
- PHP 8.4.x versions prior to 8.4.10
4.0 Recommendation
CyberSecurity Malaysia encourages users and administrators to upgrade to PHP versions 8.1.33, 8.2.29, 8.3.23 and 8.4.10 which has properly fixed for the mentioned vulnerabilities above.
