CyberSecurity Malaysia launched Malaysia Trustmark For Private Sector (MTPS) service on 3rd July 2013 in conjunction with National Digital Conference 2013 in Putrajaya. Launch of MTPS service provides an opportunity to industry players; large organizations or small and medium enterprise alike; to expand their businesses online through e-commerce. Malaysia Trustmark service is also expected to strengthen growth and development of e-commerce, hence contribute to the economic growth of the Nation. Additionally, this service has the potential to create consumer confidence in e-commerce websites developed in Malaysia.
Apart from MTPS, CyberSecurity Malaysia also received accreditation based on international standard, MS ISO/IEC 17021 from Department of Standards Malaysia. With this accreditation, CyberSecurity Malaysia is able to implement Information Security Management – ISMS (CSM27001) certification service with impartiality and credibility. More importantly, organizations that obtained ISMS certification enjoy tax exemptions against their certification fee.
ISMS is an initiative under National Cyber Security Policy that emphasizes on protection from cyber threats specifically on Critical National Information Infrastructure. Through ISMS certification, organizations are able to further increase the capability and the level of information security based on compliance to international standards. Among the organizations that successfully obtained ISMS certification include Malaysia Airline System with its Chief Executive Officer joining in the efforts to make ISMS as a priority within Malaysian Airline System Berhad’s operations.
Apart from organizing and being involved in lectures, seminars and training, CyberSecurity Malaysia also took part in cyber security related conference and exhibitions in this third quarter. Among the conference and exhibition includes Information Technology & Communication Exhibition at Software Testing Conference (SOFTEC) 2013 in Kuala Lumpur, ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) in Beijing China and 14th International Common Criteria Conference in Orlando, Florida, United States of America.
CyberSecurity Malaysia’s participation in these international conferences and exhibitions created the opportunity for CyberSecurity Malaysia to continue to lead the cyber security industry in Malaysia and at the same time place Malaysian name on the international stage.
CyberSecurity Malaysia continued to showcase a caring attitude through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives through implementation of Tunas Cemerlang 2.0 Program. As is the norm, Raya Shopping with Under Privileged Children of Bait Al-Amin from Parit District in the state of Perak and Ceremony to Deliver Raya alm to Teachers of Bait Al-Amin and to students of University Petronas who acted as mentors to the children at Bait Al-Amin were held in conjunction with the month of Ramadhan as a part of Hari Raya Aidilfitri preparation.
