Global ACE Scheme Collaboration Meeting Between CyberSecurity Malaysia And Politeknik Mersing Johor (PMJ) Mersing, Johor

 

On 1 to 2 August 2019 CyberSecurity Malaysia and Politeknik Mersing Johore (PMJ) conducted Global ACE Scheme Collaboration meeting in Mersing, Johore to coordinate academic program (academic alignment and mapping) between PMJ and CyberSecurity Malaysia on "Global ACE Scheme".

Lieutenant Colonel Bersekutu Hassan bin Siraj, Mersing Politeknik Director chaired this meeting with Dato's Ts. Dr Haji Amirudin Abdul Wahab, Chief Executive Officer and other delegates. They discussed the alignment of Diploma in Infotech module (Digital Tech Track Info Security) with professional examination certificate under Global ACE Scheme.

CyberSecurity Malaysia eventually increase the number of accredited cybersecurity professional in Malaysia and graduates from Politeknik Mersing Johor will obtain " Global ACE Scheme Certification and Diploma from Mersing Johore Politeknik.

Guideline For Securing MyKad EBA Ecosystem Workshop, Putrajaya

 

On 2 August 2019 CyberSecurity Malaysia organised Guideline For Securing MyKad EBA Ecosystem Workshop at Le Meridien, Putrajaya.

Malaysia Security Evaluation Facility (MySEF) department conducted this workshop to highlight smart card safety guidelines and its application in public and private agencies. 28 participants from 13 agencies participated in this workshop.

This is an initiative by CyberSecurity Malaysia to support Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia (KKMM) and become a benchmark to all Information Technology Security unit in providing efficient and excellent service to the general public.

MYCC Open Day 2019, Menara Cyber Axis, Cyberjaya

 

On 6 August 2019 CyberSecurity Malaysia organised "MYCC Open Day 2019 : Cyber Security Evaluation And Certification Services For The Digital Economy Era" at Menara Cyber Axis, Cyberjaya.

MyCC Open Day organized by Government Engagement Department, aims to create awareness on IEC / ISO 15408 Common Criteria in line with the Government initiative to implement a standard to procure Government Information Communication and Technology security product.

88 people participant from 48 organisations including representative from 20 Critical National Information Infrastructure (CNII) agency participated in MyCC Open Day. Dato's Ts. Dr Haji Amirudin Abdul Wahab, Chief Executive Officer of CyberSecurity Malaysia delivered an opening remark entitled "Implementing Adaptive Cyber Security Approach".

Through this seminar, CyberSecurity Malaysia successfully obtained inputs to understand the organisation and Critical National Information Infrastructure agencies’ requirements through a panel discussion session.

2nd Southeast Asia Cryptocurrencies Working Group Meeting, Singapore

 

On 14 to 16 August 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia attended 2nd Southeast Asia Cryptocurrencies Working Group Meeting in Singapore, organised by United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) of Southeast Asia and the Asia Pacific Region.

This project aims to increase capacity against illegal financial Cryptocurrencies activities by terrorist groups and criminal in ASEAN member countries.

This working group is also an information-sharing platform to identify over-rules and cryptocurrencies latest law, strengthen international cooperation and overcome challenges faced by countries member.

CyberSecurity Malaysia, represented by Sarah Khadijah Taylor, Digital Forensic Department Manager participated in the development of standards procedures for Cryptocurrencies investigation cases.

In this meeting, CyberSecurity Malaysia strengthened its relations with UNODC member and enforcers in Malaysia. This working group was an initial meeting for Securities Commission and Cryptocurrencies Unit from Royal Malaysian Police to identify solutions Cryptocurrencies cases in Malaysia.

APEC Workshop On Facilitating Trade Through Adherence To Globally-Recognized Cybersecurity Standards And Best Practices, Puerto Varas, Chile

 

On 16 to 17 August 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia attended APEC Workshop On Facilitating Trade Through Adherence To Globally-Recognized Cybersecurity Standards And Best Practices at Puerto Varas, Chile organised by Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).

This workshop aims to share interest and benefit of cyber security standard recognition globally and to support operation, concordance, and economic growth to mitigate cyber-attack and cyber threat.

In this workshop, Robert Holleyman, Ambassador, President and CEO of Crowell & Moring International, delivered a presentation entitled The importance of CyberSecurity Standard in APEC. The panellists who are APEC member also discussed on cybersecurity issues.

In this workshop, CyberSecurity Malaysia explain Centre of Excellence mission to improve CyberSecurity Malaysia service implementation in the country.

Industrial Control System (ICS) Security Training, Lexis Suites, Pulau Pinang

 

On 19 to 21 August 2019 CyberSecurity Malaysia organised Industrial Control System (ICS) Security Training in Suites Lexis, Penang.

Malaysia Vulnerable Assessment Centre Department led the training that aims to foster Industrial Control System security awareness among industry activist and promote CyberSecurity Malaysia services.

13 from 5 agencies participated in this exercise. They developed theoretical knowledge on industrial control system security and hands-on training on cyber-attack that affect industry control system.

Through these training programmes, CyberSecurity Malaysia successfully explained the importance of Industrial Control System Security and the government's initiative to increase society literacy in Industrial Control System Security.

Course On Information And Communication Technology (ICT) Risks, Including Cyber Risks In Banks, Hanoi, Vietnam

 

On 29 to 30 August 2019 CyberSecurity Malaysia attended Information And Communication Technology (ICT) Risks Course, Including Cyber Risks in Banks in Hanoi, Vietnam organised by The South East Asian Central Banks (SEACEN) Research and Training Centre.

This platform gathered 50 participants from CSIRT organisation, CERT and Central Bank from various nations in the Asian region to conduct hands-on training on Information and Communication Technology focusing on Cyber Security in the banking sector.

Sharifah Roziah Mohd Kassim, Malaysia Computer Emergency Response Team (MyCERT) Specialist represented CyberSecurity Malaysia and delivered a presentation entitled "Security for Financial Sector: Malaysia Experience."

CyberSecurity Malaysia continue to strengthen its reputation as cybersecurity expert agency internationally.

Industrial Control System (ICS) Security Guidelines Refinement Workshop, Cyberview Resort & Spa, Cyberjaya

 

On 29 August 2019 CyberSecurity Malaysia through Malaysia Vulnerable Assessment Centre, organised 2nd Industrial Control System (ICS) Security Guidelines Refinement Workshop in Cyberview Resort & Spa, Cyberjaya.

This workshop introduced a guideline to industry player in Malaysia. 13 participants from 6 agencies attended this 1- day workshop. In this workshop, Subject Matter Expert presented a draft Industrial Control System Security Guidelines and gathered feedback and proposals from the panellist.

CyberSecurity Malaysia was able to understand the work culture to implement Industrial Control System Security among industry players and for academia members to promote the Industrial Control System Security element to the students.
