Memorandum Of Understanding Signing Ceremony And Meeting "Global ACE Scheme" Between CyberSecurity Malaysia And Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP)

 

On 18 January 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia and University Teknologi Petronas (UTP) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for “Global ACE Scheme” in Tronoh, Perak to identify cybersecurity courses under "Global ACE Scheme" to be absorbed into the Bachelor program offered by UTP under Faculty of Computer and  Information Sciences.

YBhg. Prof Ts Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Abd Mutalib, Timbalan Chancellor UTP, and YBhg. Dato's Ts. Dr. Amirudin Abdul Wahab, Chief Executive Officer, CyberSecurity Malaysia signed the MoA to increase number of "Certified Cyber Security Professional" in Malaysia. UTP graduates will obtain will get "Global ACE Scheme Professional Certification" alongside their degree.

Security APISC Safety Training Course 2019, Seoul, Korea

 

CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in the APISC Security Training Course in Seoul, South Korea from July 7 to July 14, organized by KrCERT/CC, Korea Internet Security Agency (KISA).

It is a platform from trainees from participating countries to learn and share experiences on computer incident response and general cyber security areas, CSIRT’s establishment and operations; and local policy, legal and technological perspectives.

16 participants who are experienced trainers from Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC), Australia Computer Emergency Response Team, Cymru Team (Aus-CERT), and Thailand Computer Emergency Response Team (ThaiCERT) attended this training.

In this training, CyberSecurity Malaysia improved Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) operation in Malaysia.

Asean Course - Japan Cybersecurity Capacity Building Centre (AJCCBC), Bangkok, Thailand

 

On 8 to 12 July 2019, Cybersecurity Malaysia participated in Asean Course - Japan Cybersecurity Capacity Building Center 's Training (AJCCBC) in Bangkok, Thailand, organized by Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA) Thailand.

It is a platform to share technical aspect including tools usage and technique to handle cyber-attack incidents through cyber-attack simulation.

25 participants representing CERT and government agencies from 10 Asian countries, attended this program. Participants took part in practical training, discussion, and presentation to comprehend the subject.

At this course, CyberSecurity Malaysia enhanced cooperation with other agencies from various countries as the organization is sensitive on cybersecurity issues internationally.

Workshop On Developing Guideline On The Usage And Implementation Of Cryptography Algorithm AKSA MySEAL, Cyberjaya

 

On 9 July 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia through Department of Cryptography Development organized a workshop on the Use of Guidelines and Implementation of Cryptographic Algorithms AKSA MySEAL at Cyberjaya to provide information on the development of MySEAL AKSA guideline and get participants feedback on MySEAL AKSA draft guideline.

Through this workshop, CyberSecurity Malaysia produced guideline for existing AKSA cryptography algorithm list that has been evaluated.

International Conference On Electrical Engineering And Informatics (ICEEI 2019)

 

On 9 to 10 July, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatic in Bandung, Indonesia organized by Bandung Institute of Technology.

It is a network platform for technical meeting, assessment, experience sharing and collaboration among countries on IT industry issues, electrical, electronics and education.

Norahana Binti Salimin, Head of Department of Safety Testing Malaysia (MySEF) and Vijayakumaran Indumathi represented CyberSecurity Malaysia and delivered a presentation on "A Security Requirement Conceptual Model of Cloud SaaS for Malaysian Government based on Common Criteria" and "Cloud Service Provider Security Readiness Model: The Malaysian Perspective."

In this conference, CyberSecurity Malaysia assisted Security Research and Development of Cloud Computing Competencies and Smart Card & Tools in producing a method and testing report.

SEACEN-CPMI Course On Technology And Emerging Risks In Payment And SEACEN-CPMI Conference Of Directors , Payment And Settlement System , Udaipur India

 

On 9 to 12 July 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia attended SEACEN-CPMI: "Technology And Emerging Risks in Payment and Seacen-CPMI Conference of Directors, Payment and Settlement System" in Udaipur, India organized by The SEACEN Center.

It is a platform for financial and banking institution to share their views on current payment and settlement systems landscape and challenges.

Mohd Zabri Adil Talib, Chief Digital Forensic Department, represented CyberSecurity Malaysia and became a panel for the session "Threats Cyber, Consequences and Risk Mitigation Talk" and "Payment Systems' Resilience and Cybersecurity Governance Forum."

In this conference, CyberSecurity Malaysia learn and understand cybersecurity issue in the financial sector and the development of central banks among ASEAN countries.

“Staying On Top Of Cyber Security Exclusive” Seminar, Cyberjaya

 

On 9 July 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia in collaboration with Loyalty Systems IT (M) Sdn Bhd cooperation (members of Cybots Alliance), organized "Staying on Top of Cyber Security Exclusive" seminar at Dewan Menara Cyber Axis, Cyberjaya to discuss Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning with the industry and identify cyber threats solution.

60 local industries participated in this seminar that was officiated by Dato's Ts. Dr. Haji Amirudin Abdul Wahab, Chief Executive Officer, CyberSecurity Malaysia. 2 discussion sessions took place during the seminar. Firsy was moderated by James Lai, CyCarrier representative, while the second by Dr. Benson Wu from Craycraft.

Throughout this seminar, CyberSecurity Malaysia gained industry feedback on the idea of ​​strengthening local cybersecurity industry programs, the national cyber security ecosystem and directly enhancing the growth of the local industry in the field of cyber security.

KSA Descriptor 3.0 Workshop- Pathway Towards Technical & Vocational Education Training (TVET) Excellence With Professional Certification

 

On 11 July 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia organized KSA Descriptor 3.0 workshop in Menara Cyber Axis, Cyberjaya to implement job analysis between academic, industry, and the government. This workshop aims to improve and update the development of 4 KSA 2.0 descriptors under Certified Cyber ​​Security Professional Certification Scheme.

Specialists from the industry and Institution of Higher Education in Malaysia participated in this workshop organized by the Department of Cyber ​​Security Professional Development.

In this workshop, CyberSecurity Malaysia improved KSA 3.0 Descriptor quality and realized Global ACE Scheme vision towards Technical excellence training and Vocational Education with professional certification.

Visit By The Director Of Personal Data Protection Department To CyberSecurity Malaysia, Cyberjaya

 

On 11 July 2019, Director General of the Department of Personal Data Protection, Tuan Mazmalek bin Mohamad visited CyberSecurity Malaysia to understand current cybersecurity technology landscape in Malaysia.

The delegates from the Personal Data Protection Department visited the laboratory and learned CyberSecurity Malaysia products and services.

Global ACE Scheme Workshop Collaboration Between Cybersecurity Malaysia And DRB-HICOM University, Cyberjaya

 

On 12 July 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia in collaboration with DRB-HICOM University, organized 'Course Structure and Business Model' workshop in Menara Cyber Axis, Cyberjaya led by the Department of Cyber ​​Security Professional Development.

It aims to identify cybersecurity courses under the "Global ACE Scheme" to be enrolled under Masters Degree program offered by DRB Hicom University.

In this workshop, CyberSecurity Malaysia increased number of professionals in Malaysia and DRB Hicom University students will get "Global ACE Scheme Professional Certification" with a Masters Degree from the University.

National ICT Security Discourse (NICTSeD) 2019, Kuantan, Pahang

 

On 12 to 18 July 2019, CyberSAFE Challenge Cup 2019, National ICT Security Discourse - CyberSAFE Challenge Trophy (NICTSeD) 2019 quarter-finals and semifinals competition took place at the Education Technology Division in Pahang (BTP).

NICTSeD 2019 received 142 entries from 16 States in Malaysia . After the primary selection at the State level, 16 secondary schools were selected to represent each state.

Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sultan Abu Bakar, Pahang and Sekolah Tun Fatimah, Johor qualified for the finals at Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur on 25 September 2019 in conjunction with the Security Cyber Malaysia - Awards, Conference & Exhibition (CSM-ACE) 2019.

2019 RSA Conference, Asia Pacific & Japan, Singapore

 

On 15 to 18 July 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia attended 2019 RSA Conference Asia Pacific & Japan in Singapore organized by the RSA.

This is a platform that showcases latest cybersecurity innovation and it was attended by cybersecurity professionals to share cybersecurity trends around the world.

Ts. Dr. Asmawi Ariffin, Senior Vice President, Cyber ​​Security Responsive Services Division (CSRS) and Mohd Azlan bin Mohd Nor, Head of the Department of Technology Security Services (STS) represented CyberSecurity Malaysia to strengthen bilateral cooperation with various shareholders as well as to enhance cybersecurity knowledge at the Enterprise Security level.

Opengov Leadership 2019 Indonesia Conference In Jakarta, Indonesia.

 

On 18 July 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia attended Opengov Leadership 2019 Conference in Jakarta, Indonesia.

This conference is an information-sharing platform on cyber security in the modernization of digital technology initiatives.

CyberSecurity Malaysia was represented by Wan Zulhamli Wan Abdul Rahman, Head of the Strategic Research and Advisory Department, who became a panellist at this conference to share views, opinions and further discuss on strategic approaches in data security field while building network with representatives across Indonesia.

Knowledge Sharing On “Enabling Secure It Transformation To The Cloud” Cyberjaya

 

On 18 July 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia in collaboration with Zscaler and Ask4key hosted "Enabling Secure IT Transformation to the Cloud" Seminar at Menara Cyber Axis, Cyberjaya to identify latest technology issues namely Cloud Security with industry partners and to provide an overview of cyber threat solution.

30 local industry partners participated in 2 sharing sessions entitled "Cloud Security in Asia" delivered by Scott Robertson from Zscaler Asia and "Enabling Secure IT Transformation to the Cloud" by Richard Stiennon, from IT-Harvest.

In this seminar, CyberSecurity Malaysia obtained feedback to strengthen local cybersecurity industry programme ,the national cyber security ecosystem and directly boost the growth of the local cyber security industry.

6th Global Conference Of Engineering And Technology (6th GCOET), Male, Maldives

 

On 19 and 20 July 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia attended 6th Global Technology and Engineering Conference in Male, Maldives organised by Global Academy of Training and Research (GATR).

This conference is a platform to gather engineers, construction practitioners, scientists and researchers to share their knowledge, expertise and experience in engineering and technology.

30 participants from 13 organisations participated in this conference including 4 organisations from Malaysia, namely Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia , Universiti Teknologi MARA, UPM Press and CyberSecurity Malaysia.

Nurul Syazwani Bt Kamarulzaman, Analyst, Malaysia Vulnerability Assessment Centre (MyVAC) represented CyberSecurity Malaysia and delivered a presentation entitled "Development of Denial of Service (DoS) Mitigation for Internet of Things (IoT) Sensor Node".

In this conference CyberSecurity Malaysia strengthened relationship with researchers from various industries and governments globally and indirectly promote  CyberSecurity Malaysia services internationally.

Cyber Awareness Talk On Social Media Usage Among Students, Kuantan, Pahang

 

On 19 July 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia coducted CyberSecurity Awareness on Use of Social Media at Kolej Kemahiran Tinggi Mara (KKTM), Kuantan, Pahang to raise awareness on cyber threat via social media and explain Malaysia’s cyber security system as well as promoting healthy lifestyle through internet usage.

400 students attended this program including 18 staff  from Kolej Kemahiran Tinggi Mara.

Through this awareness program, participants learn to use digital devices in proper manner to prevent them from becoming victims of cybercrimes.

Bank Islam Mega Conference, Putrajaya

 

On 19 July 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in Bank Islam Mega Conference located in Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), Putrajaya organized by Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad.

It is an initiative to raise awareness on ICT security among Bank Islam staff. 4000 Bank Islam Malaysia employees nationwide including Board of Directors participated in the conference.

CyberSecurity Malaysia participated as an exhibitor and promoted its products and services. In addition CyberSecurity Malaysia delivered several presentations. Lt Col Mustaffa Ahmad (Retired), Senior Vice President, Outreach and Capacity Building Division presented "Malaysia Cybersecurity Landscape", Mohd Zabri Adil Talib presented "Catch Me If You Can"' while Jazannul Azriq Aripin presented "Your Privacy Is Showing".

On 23 July 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia welcomed Myung Information Technologies Co. Ltd. and Myung Infotech (M) Sdn Bhd at Menara CyberAxis, Cyberjaya.

This strategic visit discussed MyCyberSecurityClinic (MyCSC) direction, collaboration, business operations and developers issue.

Through this strategic partnership, CyberSecurity Malaysia strengthened existing partnerships with Myung Information Technologies Co. Ltd. company and Myung Infotech (M) Sdn Bhd to further develop MyCyberSecurityClinic (MyCSC).

Visit By Secretary-General Of Ministry Of Communication And Multimedia Malaysia To CyberSecurity Malaysia, Cyberjaya

 

On 23 July 2019, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia (KKMM), YBhg Dato' Suriani Binti Dato' Ahmad, visited CyberSecurity Malaysia for the first time, in a series of visits to KKMM agencies, to understand CyberSecurity Malaysia's roles, functions, and services. .

Dato' Suriani and her delegates visited MySEF, Digital Forensic Laboratory and MyCERT Security Operations Center laboratories.

"CyberSecurity Awareness And Knowledge Systematic High Level Application" (YAKSHA) Ambassador Day, Cyberjaya

 

On 29 July 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia in collaboration with CyberSecurity Awareness and Knowledge Systematic High-Level Application (YAKSHA) organized 'YAKSHA Ambassador Day' at the Menara Cyber Axis, Cyberjaya.

This program organized by Strategic Management Department is a platform to identify roles and benefits of becoming a YAKSHA project ambassador and simultaneously introduce YAKSHA ambassadors to YAKSHA Honeypot pioneer system.

28 people participated in YAKSHA Ambassador Day. They  experienced YAKSHA system live demonstration which aims to introduce honeypot concept, uses and analysis, to a registered YAKSHA ambassador.

CyberSecurity Malaysia proved its ability to successfully run YAKSHA program.
