Message from CEO

Assalamualaikum WBT and Salam Sejahtera.

Pleasure to meet you again in this second edition of CyberNEWS for 2020.

In second quarter while the country is still under the Movement Control Order (MCO) period, public and organizations were introduced to the term “new norm” to be practiced in daily lives and further apply in all operations in order to stop COVID-19 outbreak. CyberSecurity Malaysia also enforces all employees to work from home, and online video Teleconferencing becomes the main medium for all cyber security initiatives.

Within this MCO period, CyberSecurity Malaysia actively participated in online programmes to disseminate cybersecurity initiatives, locally and internationally.

CyberSecurity Malaysia completed a series of online Forum titled “Makcik Kiah Goes Digital” through YouTube application which highlight educational and teaching methods during the MCO.

The organization also participated in Online technical Forum titled “WFH-Online Meeting Platform Security Demystified” to discuss cybersecurity issues while using online video conferencing technology.

Another series of online Forum under “Makcik Kiah Goes Digital” titled “Makcik Kiah Goes Online...Kad Pak Salleh Pulak Decline” was organized to spread awareness on safe online purchase methods, procedures and online transactions implementation through various digital purchasing platforms.

All of us in CyberSecurity Malaysia strive to provide optimum cyber security services and diversification for Malaysians well-being throughout the MCO period.

As today’s Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) will end on 31 August 2020, I advise Malaysians Internet users to keep abreast with our periodic publication. Be Smart Be Safe. Together Towards Cyber Wellness.
