Message from CEO

Assalamualaikum WBT and Salam Sejahtera.

Once again, we meet in the fourth and final edition of CyberNEWS 2020.

Fourth quarter saw many CyberSecurity Malaysia programs and involvements still implemented online, following the new norms as the country is currently under Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) which started on the 14th of October.

In October 2020, CyberSecurity Malaysia successfully held Cyber Parenting Seminar: Towards Digital Fluency, a physical event following all the SOP accordingly. It was conducted at Institut Kemahiran MARA (IKM) Perlis to empower and expose parents/guardians to the importance of cyber security in family institutions.

In addition, CyberSecurity Malaysia also conducted several webinar sessions entitled, "How Cybersecurity Became the Number One Threats in the New Normal", ACE Global Certification Seminar with the theme, "Certifying Cyber Security Professionals Towards the Industrial Revolution 4.0" one of the Satellite Event for OIC-CERT 2020 12th Annual Conference as well as information session and refresher course for Advanced Diploma in Cyber Security Penetration Testing & Assessment held in collaboration with the Department of Skills Development.

In this fourth quarter, CyberSecurity Malaysia, as the Permanent Secretariat of OIC-CERT, also organised 12th Annual Conference of the Computer-Organization Emergency Response Team (OIC-CERT) 2020, virtually, for member countries to identify cyber security direction and challenges.

CyberSecurity Malaysia also participated in the 15th Annual Technical Conference for the National Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) organised by National CSIRT (NatCSIRT) to elaborate on latest equipment, issues and procedures. The organisation also took part in the Global ACE Certification Board of Governance Meeting, virtually.

As a cyber-security expert agency, CyberSecurity Malaysia strives to provide optimum service and explore more cyber security initiatives technically to enhance Malaysians' well-being. With the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) extended to 31st December 2020, I call all digital citizens in Malaysia, to continue to comply with the set SOPs and cultivate this new norm.

Be Smart Be Safe. Together Towards Cyber Wellness.

Thank you.
