MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING SIGNING CEREMONY BETWEEN CYBERSECURITY MALAYSIA AND AGENCY COUNSELING & MANAGEMENT CREDIT (AKPK), CYBERJAYA

 

On 2 March 2021, CyberSecurity Malaysia and the Credit Counselling and Debt Management Agency (AKPK) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The event was held virtually.

The collaboration inclusive of initiative to raise awareness on cyber security and cyber-attack risks towards the organisation.

Dato' Ts. Dr. Hj. Amiruddin Abdul Wahab FASc, Chief Executive Officer represented CyberSecurity Malaysia while Encik Azaddin Ngah Tasir, Chief Executive Officer, represented AKPK.

The MoU aims to create a general mechanism to deliver training, cyber threat guidance, consultations and other resources to improve the capability of AKPK.

VISIT BY CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF MALAYSIA DIGITAL ECONOMY CORPORATION (MDEC) TO CYBERSECURITY MALAYSIA

 

On 5 March 2021, CyberSecurity Malaysia welcomed Malaysia Digital Economic Corporation (MDEC) delegates led by Puan Surina Shukri, Chief Executive Officer, accompanied by Mr Raymond Siva, Chief Marketing Officer.

In this official visit, CyberSecurity Malaysia explained its role and responsibilities in cyber security in Malaysia and provide an overview of its programmes and activities.

Dato' Ts Dr Hj Amirudin Abd Wahab FASc, Chief Executive Officer of CyberSecurity Malaysia delivered a welcoming remarks upon their arrival.

MDEC’s visit to CyberSecurity Malaysia enhanced bilateral cooperation in cyber security which benefits the nation in the future.

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING SIGNING CEREMONY BETWEEN CYBERSECURITY MALAYSIA AND UNIVERSITI MALAYSIA TERENGGANU (UMK), CYBERJAYA

 

On 21 March 2021, CyberSecurity Malaysia and Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMK) signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

This MoU aims to strengthen cooperation between CyberSecurity Malaysia and University Malaysia Terengganu to monitor cyber security field among university students.

The virtual ceremony was graced by Dato' Ts. Dr. Haji Amirudin Abdul Wahab FASc, Chief Executive Officer, CyberSecurity Malaysia and Prof. Dato’ Dr. Nor Aieni Haji Mokhtar, Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Terengganu.

The memorandum of agreement signed comprises cyber security research and testing in the field of the country’s cloud security and maritime.

At the ceremony, a mock cheque worth RM250,000 was presented to realize the collaboration between CyberSecurity Malaysia and Universiti Malaysia Terengganu.

This official collaboration will create a new framework model for vulnerability evaluation and penetration testing for brand new cloud infrastructure platforms as reference for any related organization.

Other than that, online courses and training in adapting with the existence of augmented reality in the field of cloud computing will be implemented to encourage the usage of a secure cloud environment in the advancement of mobile applications and websites.

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING SIGNING CEREMONY BETWEEN CYBERSECURITY MALAYSIA (CSM) AND MANAGEMENT & SCIENCE UNIVERSITY (MSU), CYBERJAYAA

 

On 22 March 2021, CyberSecurity Malaysia and Management & Science University (MSU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Menara Cyber Axis, Cyberjaya

This MoU marks the cooperation between CyberSecurity Malaysia and Management & Science University. It serves as a medium to promote CyberSecurity Malaysia's roles and responsibilities through facilities and laboratories tour.

CyberSecurity Malaysia delegation was led by Dato' Ts. Dr. Haji Amirudin Abd Wahab FASc, Chief Executive Officer, meanwhile the Management & Science University delegation was led by Professor Tan Sri Dato' Wira Dr. Mohd Shukri Abd Yajid, President of Management & Science University.

This initiative benefit both parties and aid the enhancement of skills and human resources in the country in terms of expertise, capabilities, and experience sharing in the field of cyber security,

SIBERKASA LAUNCHING CEREMONY, CYBERJAYA

 

On March 23, 2021, CyberSecurity Malaysia launched a cyber security empowerment program, SiberKASA at Dewan Menara Cyber Axis, Cyberjaya.

SiberKASA is an initiative by CyberSecurity Malaysia to build, motivate, sustain, and improve the country's cyber security infrastructure and ecosystem. It has become a manifestation as a reaction to highly complicated and advanced cyber threats and assaults.

This program was also developed to ensure continued advancement of cyber security and the provision of CyberSecurity Malaysia products and services to Internet users from different sectors, industries, and individuals. Even though the country is still grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic, this initiative allow continuous supply of Cyber Security products and services to all parties to begin.

SiberKASA implemented three elements as part of a comprehensive holistic approach to cyber defence. Human, Process, and Technology are the elements that shape the base for policy formulation, strategic planning, and the implementation of a cyber security infrastructure architecture in an organization.

SiberKASA was officiated by the Minister of Communications and Multimedia, YB Dato' Saifuddin Bin Abdullah. Attended the event were the Secretary-General, Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia, Dato' Sri Haji Mohammad Bin Mentek; Chairman of the Board of Directors, CyberSecurity Malaysia, General Tan Sri Dato' Seri Panglima Mohd Azumi Bin Mohamed (Retired) and CyberSecurity Malaysia, Chief Executive Officer, Dato' Ts Dr. Haji Amirudin Bin Abdul Wahab FASc.

In this event, seven CyberSecurity Malaysia products and services were launched under the element of Human, Process and Technologies. There are CyberSAFE L.I.V.E Gallery, Global Accredited Cybersecurity Education Certification's Upskilling Program, 7 Cyber Security Industry Guidelines, CamMuka 2.0, xForensik, that contains PenDua and Kloner, MASSA (Mobile Assessment Security Scanning Application), and CMERP ADF (Coordinated Malware Eradication & Remediation Project Advanced DNS Firewall).

CYBER SECURITY COLLABORATION PROGRAMME (CCP) - "CYBER SECURITY DIALOGUE WITH INDUSTRY", CYBERJAYA

 

On 23 March 2021, CyberSecurity Malaysia hosted "Cyber Security Dialogue with Industry" at Dewan Menara Cyber Axis, Cyberjaya.

This dialogue session is an initiative under the CyberSecurity Malaysia Collaboration Program (CCP), aim to address emerging cyber security challenges, especially in the light of new norms.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Dato' Ts. Dr. Haji Amirudin Abdul Wahab FASc, Chief Executive Officer, CyberSecurity Malaysia. More than 70 industry representatives attended the dialogue session.

This program has proven to be a powerful platform to strengthen collaboration between CyberSecurity Malaysia and its industry partners to benefit the potential development and growth of Malaysia’s cyber security industry.

CYBERSAFE L.I.V.E GALLERY LAUNCHING CEREMONY , CYBERJAYA

 

On 23 March 2021, CyberSAFETM L.I.V.E. Galeri was launched at Menara Cyber Axis, Cyberjaya.

CyberSecurity Malaysia established CyberSAFETM L.I.V.E. Galeri as a hub for research, training, and to disseminate cyber security knowledge in Malaysia as part of CyberSAFETM Programme.

This gallery displays useful information to raise public awareness on the importance of cyber security through comprehensive understanding of Human, Process, and Technology, critical components to ensure cyber security, and promote CyberSecurity Malaysia products and services in strengthening Malaysia's cyber security infrastructure.

The opening ceremony was officiated by the Minister of Communications and Multimedia, YB Dato' Saifuddin Bin Abdullah Malaysia and witnessed by the Secretary-General, Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia, Dato' Sri Haji Mohammad Bin Mentek; Chairman of the Board of Directors, CyberSecurity Malaysia, General Tan Sri Dato' Seri Panglima Mohd Azumi Bin Mohamed (Retired) and CyberSecurity Malaysia, Chief Executive Officer, Dato' Ts Dr. Haji Amirudin Bin Abdul Wahab FASc.

CyberSAFETM L.I.V.E. Galeri was recognised by The Malaysia Book of Records as "The First Cyber Security Gallery in Malaysia". In addition, the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MoE) has designated the Gallery as a centre for co-curriculum activities and activities for primary and secondary school students under MoE, focusing on cyber security awareness programs.

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING SIGNING CEREMONY BETWEEN CYBERSECURITY MALAYSIA, CELCOM AXIATA, AND HUAWEI MALAYSIA

 

On 30 March 2021, CyberSecurity Malaysia, Celcom Axiata Berhad (Celcom), and Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Huawei Malaysia) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Dewan Menara Cyber Axis, Cyberjaya to learn, address and mitigate threats related to 5G security.

This MoU was signed by CyberSecurity Malaysia's Chief Executive Officer, Dato' Ts. Dr. Haji Amirudin Abdul Wahab FASc; Celcom Axiata Berhad's Chief Executive Officer, Idham Nawawi, and Huawei Malaysia's Chief Executive Officer, Michael Yuan.

This MoU aims to establish a 5G Cyber Security Testing Laboratory at Cyber Security Malaysia, as announced by the Minister of Communications and Multimedia YB Dato' Saifuddin Abdullah in the "Connected for Shared Prosperity" forum organized by Huawei in conjunction with Mobile World Congress 2021 in February 2021 in Shanghai, China.

This will be the first 5G cyber security lab of its kind in the Southeast Asian region in conjunction with the announcement of Malaysian Digital Economy Blueprint or MyDigital, by Prime Minister YAB Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, where 5G is expected to be launched later this year.

Through this MoU, CyberSecurity Malaysia, Huawei and Celcom roles and responsibilities are highlighted according to their areas of expertise to further strengthen Malaysia’s preparedness towards 5G. CyberSecurity Malaysia will conduct testing on Internet of Things (IoT) and telecommunications protection.

‘CYBER SECURITY ESSENTIAL’ TRAINING COURSE

 

On 31 March 2021, CyberSecurity Malaysia conducted a virtual Training Course entitled 'Cyber Security Essential' through the Zoom application.

This course serves as a medium in providing a coherent explanation regarding the existence of current cyber threats as well as steps to create safer cyberspace.

CyberSecurity Malaysia was represented by two trainers, Ts. Dr Zahri Yunos, Chief Operating Officer and Lt Col Mustaffa Bin Ahmad (Retired) C|CISO, Senior Vice President, Outreach and Capacity Building Division. More than 40 participants who are students and staff from Kedah Industrial Skills and Management Development Center (KISMEC) attended the course.

Through this course, CyberSecurity Malaysia acquired a platform to provide exclusive comprehension and in-depth exposure towards the importance of improving cyber security protection in the community.
