Recognizing the importance of cyber security’s role in the digital development of Malaysia, CyberSecurity Malaysia continues to play a leading role in national cyber security industry by actively involved in various activities and programs related to cyber security. First quarter of 2016 started positively. There were various programs to strengthen cyber security within and outside the country.
In the first quarter, CyberSecurity Malaysia involved in MOSTI Social Innovation Program (MSI), an initiative by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) by organizing two activities, namely Ops Jelajah Cyber 2.0 Pahang and Johor as well as Training program on Enhancing Cyber Security Effectiveness and Information in Sarawak and Sabah. MSI Program was very significant. It is able to help the local community to improve their economic well-being through the implementation of services, skills upgrading and innovations that can be implemented in a sustainable manner.
CyberSecurity Malaysia also actively involved in sharing of knowledge, expertise and experience. In the first quarter, CyberSecurity Malaysia involved in the expansion of knowledge through a series of academic tours and strategic visits to various organizations within the country and overseas. This initiative is an opportunity to equip the staff with new expertise, skills and competence in handling the issue of cyber security.
CyberSecurity Malaysia's role is strengthened through its participation in international programs, including the celebration of Safer Internet Day 2016 and also the Steering Committee Meeting of the Asia Pacific Computer Security Response Team (APCERT) and Steering Committee Meeting of the Organization of Islamic Corporation Computer Emergency Response Team (OIC-CERT). CyberSecurity Malaysia involvement is an international recognition for its significant role in the field of cyber security.
With the support from various sectors in the field of cyber security, CyberSecurity Malaysia is expected to continue driving the development of cyber security industry for everyone’s benefits.
