Global ACE Scheme Workshop between CyberSecurity Malaysia and DRB-HICOM University (DHU)

 

CyberSecurity Malaysia and University DRB-HICOM conducted a workshop to discuss Global ACE Scheme programme implementation on 11 February 2019.

This workshop aims to align DRB-HICOM Masters programme with Global ACE Scheme and to identify marketing activities to promote both programmes.

YBhg. Prof Dato Seri Dr. Haji Omar Haji Osman, Vice Chancellor of DRB Hicom University chaired the workshop and Ts Dr Zahri Yunos, Chief Operating Officer represented CyberSecurity Malaysia.

DRB-HICOM University is now a strategic partner to Global ACE Scheme.

ASEAN Fact-Checking Capacity Building Workshop, Singapore

 

In 11 to 12 February 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in ASEAN Fact-Checking Capacity Building workshop in Google Office Asia Pacific, Singapore.

It was organised by International Strategy/Strategic Planning Division under the Singapore Ministry of Communications and Information. This interactive programme focuses on social media and "open source" practice to compose an action plan to overcome fake news.

Participants discovered method to identify and evaluate fake content and enhanced "open source" for fact examination and information confirmation.

Global ACE Scheme Workshop between CyberSecurity Malaysia and Politeknik Mersing, Johor

 

CyberSecurity Malaysia and Politeknik Mersing Johor conducted a workshop to discuss Global ACE Scheme programme implementation on 12 and 13 February 2019.

This workshop aims to identify potential research collaboration and marketing activities to promote both programmes.

YBhg. Lieutenant Colonel Bersekutu Hassan Bin Siraj, Director of Politeknik Mersing Johor chaired the workshop and Ts Dr Zahri Yunos, Chief Operating Officer represented CyberSecurity Malaysia.

Politeknik Mersing Johor is now a strategic partner to Global ACE Scheme and promotional activities will be conducted by Jabatan Pendidikan Politeknik and Kolej Komuniti.

Safer Internet Day (SID) 2019 Launching Ceremony, Putrajaya

 

CyberSecurity Malaysia organised Safer Internet Day (SID) 2019 - Malaysian Edition launching ceremony at the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia building in Putrajaya.

SID 2019 – Malaysian Edition with the theme "Cyber Wellness" was launched by YB Tuan Eddin Syazlee Shith,Deputy Minister of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia.

Safer Internet Day 2019 is a platform to expose general public mainly the target group towards cybersecurity and internet etiquette.

A video with YB Tuan Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia message on cyber wellness was also launched on the same day. During the event, YB Eddin Shazlee Shith, Deputy Minister of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia also presented Cyber Wellness campaign posters as a symbolic gift to Safer Internet Day 2019 strategic partners.

The Cloud Platform E-Learning Presentation: Cybersecurity Challenges

 

On 13 February 2019 CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in the Best of the Best Seminar: e-Learning Best Practice at Universiti Tun Hussien Onn Malaysia (UTHM).

This seminar is an initiative to acculturate knowledge, understand the importance of cybersecurity in cloud computing and provide digital learning service in the e-learning platform.

Ahmad Dahari Bin Jarno and Norahana Binti Salimin represented CyberSecurity Malaysia as speakers in the seminar.

The involvement of CyberSecurity Malaysia in this seminar has provided cyber security awareness as well as the need to know the latest technologies such as cloud computing. In addition, CyberSecurity Malaysia also helps in solving the problem of Information Technology equipment needs from the point of purchase and also ensures the hardware is capable of being used in line with the current development of the academic sector as well as university users.

UMT Industry Training Carnival and PITA (KLIP) 2019

 

On 17 and 18 February 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in Karnival Latihan Industri and UMT PITA 2019 in Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu.

The carnival was organized by Pusat Pengajian Informatik dan Matematik Gunaan (PPIMG) in Universiti Malaysia Terengganu in conjunction with Minggu Cakna PPIMG, with final year students who will undergo industrial training in 2019.

CyberSecurity Malaysia participated as the exhibiton and delivered cybersecurity awareness talks to students to spread awareness as well as promote CyberSecurity Malaysia services such as Cyber999 Help Centre, CyberSAFE Program and MyCC.

CyberSecurity Malaysia participation in this exposed lecturers and students to the government's vision of developing a large knowledgeable ICT community, particularly in cybersecurity.

Defence Practice Against Cyber Security Training, Tokyo, Japan

 

CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in Defence Practice Against Cyber Attacks organised by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on 17 February to 2 March 2019 in Tokyo Japan.

This is a technical training to combat cyber-attacks more effectively. Participants discovered a trend on the current cybersecurity issue in order to tackle global cyber-attacks.

20 participants from 11 countries attended this course. Muhammad Nasim bin Abdul Aziz and Faiszatulnasro Binti Mohd Maksom, specialists from Malaysia Computer Emergency Response Team (MyCERT) represented CyberSecurity Malaysia.

CyberSecurity Malaysia highlight its reputation internationally in this cybersecurity field. Other foreign countries look up to Malaysia as a cooperative country in securing cybersecurity globally.

Malaysia Urban Forum (MUF) 2019, Kuala Lumpur Convention Center

 

On 18 and 19 February 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in Malaysia Urban Forum (MUF) 2019, organised by MALAYSIA URBANICE at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur. It is a platform to identify solution towards developing sustainable urban nation.

Seven government agencies participated in this forum and Ts Dr Solahhudin Shamsuddin, Chief Technology Officer represented CyberSecurity Malaysia and presented on Industrial 4.0 Framework.

This forum shows government support towards external industry and the public in terms of providing secured ICT environment.

Asia Pacific Internet Conference on Operational Technologies (APRICOT) & FIRST Technical Colloquium Daejeon, Korea

 

On 18 February 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in Asia Pacific Internet Conference on Operational Technologies (APRICOT) & FIRST Technical Colloquium, organised by Asia Pacific Internet Association (APIA), APNIC, and Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KISTI) in Daejeon, Korea. It was attended by 600 delegates from over 50 countries worldwide. FIRST members expose participants to global issues which influenced incident response operation and security forces.

This event is a platform for FIRST members and invited guests to share information on global issues affecting incident response operations and security forces.

Farah Binti Ramlee from Malaysia Computer Emergency Response Team (MyCERT) represented CyberSecurity Malaysia delivered a proposal titled "Establishment of Threat Intelligence into Incident Response".

It shows that CyberSecurity Malaysia services are now in line with cyber industrial development.

ISO 22301 BCMS Certificate Presentation Ceremony, Tun Dr. Ismail (DTI)'s Hall, Nuclear Agency Malaysia

 

On 19 February 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia presented ISO 22301 BCMS Certification in conjunction with Malaysia Nuclear Agency Monthly assembly in Dewan Tun Dr Ismail (DTI).

Malaysia Nuclear Agency received the ISO22301 Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS) certification as a symbolic to its cooperation and effort in BCMS impleentation.

At the event, Wan Shafiuddin Zainudin, Head of, Information Security Certification Body from CyberSecurity Malaysia awarded the certificate to YBhg. Dr Mohd. Abd Wahab Bin Yusof, Director-General, Agency Nuclear Malaysia.

ICORS Round Table Discussion “The Ethics of Artificial Intelligence”, Dewan Besar Ikim, Kuala Lumpur

 

CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in Rundingan Meja Bulat ICORS "The Ethics of Artificial Intelligence" organised by Institute of Islamic Understanding Malaysia (IKIM) on 20 February 2019 located in Dewan Besar IKIM, Kuala Lumpur.

This roundtable aims to understand the "Artificial Intelligent" (AI) and its impact on Malaysia’s society. Panellists discuss AI ethical issues and explore AI framework possibility from religious and philosophical perspectives in Malaysian context.

Ts. Dr Solahuddin Shamsuddin, Chief Technology Officer, represented CyberSecurity Malaysia as the moderator in a session titled "Emerging AI Trends in Critical Industries".

Asia Pacific Computer Emergency Response Team (APCERT) Steering Committee Meeting 2 / 2019 , Deajeon Convention Center, Korea

 

CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in 2nd Asia Pacific Computer Emergency Response Team (APCERT) Steering Committee meeting on 24 February 2019 in Daejeon Convention Center, Korea.

The meeting was organised by APCERT Secretariat and Steering Committee intend cooperative relationship between Malaysia and APCERT member states and highlight significant contribution and role played by Malaysia in the of field cybersecurity to the Asia Pacific countries.

CyberSecurity Malaysia as APCERT deputy chairman participated in APCERT 2019 Meeting and Conference and witnessed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing between APCERT and APNIC.

In this event, CyberSecurity Malaysia expanded the country’s capacity to face cyber threat through information-sharing, expertise, research output and best practice between computer emergency response team of APCERT countries.

Signing Ceremony of The Collaboration Agreement with Onwards Security, New Taipei City, Taiwan

 

On 25 February 2019, there was signing of Cooperation Agreement between CyberSecurity Malaysia and Onwards Security, located in New Taipei City, Taiwan. The cooperation signed is related to the promotion and marketing of Cyber Security Malaysia services in the East Asian region.

The agreement was signed by YBhg. Dato' Ts. Dr. Haji Amirudin Abdul Wahab, Chief Executive Officer, CyberSecurity Malaysia and Mr. Morgan Hung, General Manager (cum owner of the company) Onward Security.

Through this collaboration the CC (Common Criteria) and CMVP certification services (Crypto Module Validation Program) will have the opportunity to penetrate East Asia markets, especially Taiwan, China and Hong Kong.

7th Annual Cyber Intelligence Asia Conference and Exhibition Bangkok, Thailand

 

On 26 to 28 February 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in the Cyber Intelligence Asia 7th Annual conference and exhibition, organised by Intelligence-Sec Limited (UK) together with Thailand 's National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC), in Bangkok, Thailand. This is a platform to discuss cybersecurity issues in Asia-Pacific and exchange knowledge on cybersecurity strategies.

Fazlan Abdullah, Head of Government Engagement department represented CyberSecurity Malaysia and delivered a presentation titled "CyberSecurity Malaysia 's Experience In The Implementation Of The National Cyber Security Policy (NCSP) Initiatives".

In this event, CyberSecurity Malaysia discussed cybersecurity case studies and strengthened networking with foreign agencies.

MBI Synergies Forum, Saujana Hotel, Kuala Lumpur

 

On 28 February 2018, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in MBI Synergies Forum, themed “Digital Infrastructure” organised by IBR Asia Group in cooperation with Menteri Besar Incorporation (MBI) at Kuala Lumpur Saujana Hotel.

Lt Col Sazali Sukardi, Senior Vice President, Strategic Research Division represented CyberSecurity Malaysia and shared his experience handling cyber-attacks in Malaysia. He also listed several initiatives for all parties to implement to strengthen cyber defence in order to reduce cybercrimes.

In this MBI Synergies Forum, CyberSecurity Malaysia expand networks with cybersecurity players in the country.
