Signing Ceremony of Collaboration Certificate with Politeknik Mersing, Johor

 

On March 2 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia and Politeknik Mersing signed and exchanged Certificate of Collaboration in Johor.

This collaboration relates to the bi-accreditation of Diploma in Information Technology and global cyber security professional certification ACE Scheme.

YBhg. Dato' Ts. Dr. Haji Amirudin Abdul Wahab, Chief Executive Officer, representing CyberSecurity Malaysia and YBhg. Lieutenant Colonel Associate (PA) Hassan Bin Siraj, Director of Politeknik Mersing signed this certificate, witnessed by YBhg. Dr Ismail, Director-General of Politeknjk Education and Community College

Politeknik Mersing is now Global ACE Scheme strategic partner in the East Coast region. CyberSecurity Malaysia also strengthens its cooperation with Polytechnic and Community College.

RSA International Cyber Security Forum (ICSF) 2019, Intercontinental Hotel, San Francisco, United State of America (USA)

 

On 4 to 8 March 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in the RSA International Cyber Security Forum (ICSF) 2019 at Intercontinental Hotel, San Francisco, USA.

RSA ICSF 2019 focuses on cybersecurity risk management issues on critical national infrastructure, quantum computing and Artificial Intelligence technology.

Mohamad Anwer Yusoff, Head of Department of Cyber Security Industry Engagement & Collaboration (CIEC) represented CyberSecurity Malaysia and became one of the panel experts for a closed forum discussing the risks and issues of international cybersecurity.

CyberSecurity Malaysia has taken the opportunity topromote its services and CSM-ACE 2019 event on September 2019.

Cyber Heroes Competition 2019, Asia Pacific University, Bukit Jalil

 

On March 6, 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia in collaboration with Standard Chartered Malaysia and Asia Pacific University hosted Cyber Heroes 2019 at Asia Pacific University, Bukit Jalil.

This competition held every two years, is a platform to find new talents and promote cybersecurity culture among younger generation.

Twenty teams from public and private Institutions of Higher Learning participated in the competition. Participants tested forensics data analysis and attended cyber security seminar organised by CyberSecurity Malaysia in conjunction with Safety Internet Day 2019 - Malaysia Edition.

Participants from Asia Pacific University (APU) won Cyber Heroes 2019 competition. This event is CyberSecurity Malaysia's initiative to promote cybersecurity development among Malaysian higher learning institutions in Malaysia to produce responsible digital citizens in cyberspace.

“Youth Cyber Wellness in the Digital Era” Seminar & Safer Internet Day 2019 - Malaysia Edition Closing Ceremony, Putrajaya

 

On 7 March 2019 CyberSecurity Malaysia hosted "Youth Cyber Wellness in the Digital Era" Seminar and Safer Internet Day 2019 – Malaysian Edition Opening Ceremony int Putrajaya.

More than 300 participants from various institutions of higher learning, youth organisations and government agencies participated in this event. YB Tuan Gobind Singh Deo, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Minister officiated the opening ceremony.

"Youth Cyber Wellness in the Digital Era" Seminar involved 19 panellists from the industry, academia and local celebrities. Safer Internet Day 2019 strategic partners participated in the mini exhibition.

CyberSecurity Malaysia raised the awareness level and the importance of cyber-well-being among community especially families to create responsible digital citizens.

CyberSecurity Malaysia (CSM) - Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) Cloud Technology Security& Industry 4.0 Collaboration Workshop CyberSecurity Malaysia (CSM) - Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), Zenith Hotel, Putrajaya

 

On 18 and 19 March 2019 CyberSecurity Malaysia organised a Collaboration Workshop on Cloud & Industry 4.0 CyberSecurity Malaysia (CSM) - Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) Technology at Zenith Hotel, Putrajaya.

This workshop aims to establish collaboration between CyberSecurity Malaysia and Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) in the field of research, development, testing, audit, training and awareness on cloud and Industry 4.0 security.

Thirty people attended this workshop including nine UMT staff. They discussed UMTMOOC's implementation at UMT to MySEF Cloud Secure Platform (MySEFCSP) as well as professional training and certification for the academic syllabus, the development of the ACE Global Module and central test exams.

CyberSecurity Malaysia has developed activities to support and secure Cloud platform and services in online research and education (E-Learning) activities and conducted a pilot project with UMT to test Cloud security audit and methods developed by CyberSecurity Malaysia.

Critical Infrastructure Protection Forum CIP Forum IV 2019 Romanian Parliament Palace, Bucharest, Romania

 

On 25 to 30 March 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in the 4th Critical Infrastructure Protection Forum at the Romanian Parliament Palace in Bucharest, Romania.

National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics - ICI Bucharest conducted this forum to identify method of building government capacity for the coordination of critical infrastructure protection activities in the country.

Ts. Dr. Solahuddin bin Shamsuddin, Chief Technology Officer represented CyberSecurity Malaysia, delivered a presentation titled "Regional Approaches for Critical Infrastructure Protection" and talked about "Safeguarding Critical Infrastructure Against Cyber Threats Through National Cyber Security Policy Implementation: Malaysia's Perspective."

CyberSecurity Malaysia opened collaboration opportunities with International Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Albanian CERT.

Cyber Security Awareness Seminar - Combating and How to Respond to Cyber Threat, Ipoh, Perak

 

On 28 March 2019 CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in "Awareness and How to Respond to Cyber Threat" Seminar on Security Awareness in Ipoh, Perak.

Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers Institute of Perak supported by CyberSecurity Malaysia organized this workshop to promote ICT security awareness and CyberSecurity Malaysia services to organisations, entrepreneurs and manufacturers around Perak.

Mohamed Anwer Bin Mohamed Yusoff, Head of Department of Cyber Security Industry Engagement & Collaboration represented CyberSecurity Malaysia and delivered a presentation entitled "Cyber Security Risk Management in 4th Industrial Revolution".
