Kembara Amal Cybersafe 2019

 

On 18 May 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia organised Kembara Amal CyberSAFE with orphanage from Rumah Kebajikan Anak Yatim Bait Al Amin in Aeon Station 18, Ipoh, Perak.

This is a platform for CyberSecurity Malaysia to bond and educate Bait Al Amin's children, parent and keeper on cybersecurity ethics through awareness on cybersecurity interest in daily life.

95 orphans, management of Rumah Bait Al Amin and students from Petronas Technology University Malaysia (UTP) who are CyberSAFE mentors participated in this one day programme.

Through this programme, CyberSecurity Malaysia in collaboration with Petronas Technology University Malaysia inculcate cybersecurity knowledge to youth group.

4th Digital Forensics Expert Group Meeting, Sao Paolo, Brazil

 

On 22 to 24 May 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in 4th Digital Forensics Expert Group Meeting in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

Digital Forensics Expert Group Meeting organised by Interpol Innovation Centre Directorate is a platform to share forensic best practice, equipment and method and strengthen cooperation between countries at the international level.

Sarah Khadijah Taylor from Digital Forensic Department represented CyberSecurity Malaysia in this meeting. She also developed a document entitled 'INTERPOL Guidelines for Digital Forensics Laboratory'.

In the meeting, Anita Hazenberg, Director of INTERPOL Innovation Center honored CyberSecurity Malaysia for the support and the development of 'INTERPOL Guidelines for Digital Forensics Laboratory'. This appreciation indicates CyberSecurity Malaysia forensic expertise is recognised at the international level.

Visit of Personal Data Protection Department (JPDP) to CyberSecurity Malaysia, Cyberjaya

 

On 27 May 2019, CyberSecurity Malaysia welcomed delegates from Monitoring Division of Personal Data Protection Department.

This visit aims to promote CyberSecurity Malaysia to the Personal Data Protection Department and to prepare for the Director’s visit in July.

Ts. Dr Solahuddin Shamsuddin, CyberSecurity Malaysia's Chief Technology Officer briefed the delegates followed by a visit to Malaysia Computer Emergency Response Team (MyCERT) and Digital Forensic labs.

CyberSecurity Malaysia introduced its services to Personal Data Protection Department and strengthen cooperation between agencies under the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia through this visit.

ISO/IEC TC 307 Blockchain And Distributed Ledger Technology; 5th Plenary Meeting, Dublin, Ireland

 

On 27 to 31 May 2019 CyberSecurity Malaysia attended 5th Plenary Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology Meeting in Dublin, Ireland.

Standardisation of International Organisation organised this meeting to develop a standard on Blockchain and Distributed technology.

Ts. Dr Maslina Daud, Senior Vice president, Cyber Security Proactive Services Division and Hazlin Abdul Ranee, Head of Cryptography Development Department represented CyberSecurity Malaysia at this meeting.

In this meeting, CyberSecurity Malaysia is recognised for its contribution and cooperation in developing standards document in cybersecurity field. It also revealed CyberSecurity Malaysia knowledge on technology and blockchain development.

ASEAN-Japan Cybersecurity Capacity Building Centre’s Training, Bangkok, Thailand

 

On 27 to 31st May, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in 6th ASEAN-Japan Cybersecurity Capacity Building Centre (AJCCBC) training programme in Bangkok, Thailand.

ASEAN-Japan Cybersecurity Capacity Building Centre (AJCCBC) organized this technical training program to focus on cybersecurity practicality training (programme CYDER) and Malware code analysis training.

Kilausuria Bt Abdullah from Malaysia Computer Emergency Response Team (MyCERT) represented CyberSecurity Malaysia in this 5-days training. CyberSecurity Malaysia exchanged ideas to increase technical skills and shared Cyber999 services in cyber incident operation and information technology security.

AUSCERT 2019 Cyber Security Conference, Gold Coast, Australia

 

On 28 to 31st May, CyberSecurity Malaysia attended AUSCERT2019 Cyber Security Conference in Gold Coast, Australia.

"It is Dangerous to Go Alone" is the conference’s theme and over 1000 delegates from various organisations in Australia and foreign countries, including CERT Team, corporate companies and information technology experts attended the conference.

Sharifah Roziah Mohd Kassim from Malaysia Computer Emergency Response Team (MyCERT), represented CyberSecurity Malaysia and presented her research on "Practical Integration of Threat Intelligence into CERT Process to Accelerate Efficiency and Timely Response of Incidents: Malaysia CERT Experience ".

Through this conference CyberSecurity Malaysia established a cooperation with information technology security experts on latest cyber security threat and increased CyberSecurity Malaysia visibility in the international arena.
