CyberSecurity Malaysia attended Edutech Asia Expo in Suntec Convention Centre, Singapore on 4 to 6 November 2019 organised by Edutech Asia Expo.

This is a platform for educators, policymakers, academician and professionals to discuss latest pedagogy spectrum, innovation and technology in the education sector.

Lt Col Mustaffa Bin Ahmad (Retired), Senior Vice President, Outreach and Capacity Building and Elina Binti Mubin from Outreach and Corporate Communications Department represented CyberSecurity Malaysia and delivered a presentation entitled "Keeping Your Schools and Students Safe & Secured".

In this expo, CyberSecurity Malaysia introduced CyberSAFE programme to other participants and identified latest trends and issues on early childhood education landscape.

Cyber Offensive And Defensive Exercise Seminar (CODE 2019) , Taiwan

 

CyberSecurity Malaysia attended Cyber Offensive and Defensive Exercise Seminar (CODE 2019) in NTUH International Convention Centre, Taiwan on 4 to 8 November 2019, organised by National Information and Communication Security Taskforce (NICST), Taiwan.

This is a Taiwan Cyber Security initiative to expand cooperation through seminar, workshop and cyber-attack training. It aims to nurture cooperation in local and international level through exchange of views and experience on cyber incidents handling, cyber security system's capability evaluation and communication mechanism effectiveness of government agency across domains.

Seven staff from Malaysia Computer Emergency Response Team (MyCERT) represented CyberSecurity Malaysia at CODE 2019 seminar. This seminar exposed participants with various activities like seminar, presentation, round table discussion and simulation exercise.

CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in Red Team and Blue Team training for cyber threat preparation to strengthen and MyCERT operations and activities.

Cyber Crime Workshop , Interpol IGCI, Singapore

 

CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in a Cybercrime Workshop at IGCI INTERPOL, Singapore on 4 to 8 November 2019 organised by Singapore United States of America Third Country Training Programme (TCTP).

This is an initiative to strengthen human resource development in investigation work routine (online cybercrime investigation) for ASEAN countries.

Ikmal Halim bin Jahaya and Mohd Adlan bin Ahmad from Cyber Action Intelligence Team (CAIT) represented CyberSecurity Malaysia and learnt investigation skills and participated in simulation exercise.

CyberSecurity Malaysia established strategic relationships with ASEAN cyber investigative team to acquire new knowledge.

ASEAN-Australia Digital Trade Standard Initiative Workshop, Jakarta, Indonesia

 

CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in Digital Trade Standard Initiative ASEAN-Australian Workshop in Jakarta, Indonesia on 5 to 6 November 2019 organised by National Standards of Australia.

This is a platform for ASEAN and Australia to exchange information on cyber security standards and provide update on ASEAN countries cyber security standard activities.

Ts. Dr Maslina Daud, Senior Vice President, Cyber Security Proactive Services (CSPS) represented CyberSecurity Malaysia together with three other Malaysian delegates and delivered a presentation on Cybersecurity Standards derived from ISO/IEC SC 27 Meetings held in France in October.

CyberSecurity Malaysia exposed participants to cyber security standards development and promoted its services. The organiser also recognised CyberSecurity Malaysia caabilities as Malaysian technical agency acknowledged at the international level.

ASEAN-Japan Cybersecurity Capacity Building Center’s Training (AJCCBC), Thailand

 

OCyberSecurity Malaysia attended ASEAN-Japan Cybersecurity Capacity Building Center's Training (AJCCBC) in Thailand on 11 to 15 November 2019 organised by Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA).

This is a training program on Cyber Defense Exercise with Recurrence (CYDER) and Malware Analyses programme to upgrade incident reaction capacity towards cyber-attack.

Imran bin Hasnan from Malaysia Computer Emergency Response Team (MyCERT) represented CyberSecurity Malaysia together with 23 other participants from various countries and backgrounds who participated in practical training session, discussion and presentation to evaluate their comprehension on process and procedure analysis for real time cyber-attacks.

CyberSecurity Malaysia established cooperation on cyber incident management between ASEAN countries and expanded countermeasure security and effective policy development to handle cyber-attack like Advance Persistence Threat (APT).

Peace And Development Dialogue In South Asia, Middle East And Central Asia (SAMECA), Islamabad, Pakistan

 

CyberSecurity Malaysia attended a dialogue on peace and development in SAMECA region in Islamabad, Pakistan on 11 to 15 November 2019 organised by Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI).

During the dialogue, IPRI launched a new initiative, Dialogue Margalla that covers SAMECA peace and development by highlighting issues related to Pakistan and cooperation between SAMECA countries on international community and cybersecurity development.

Ts. Dr. Zahri Yunos, CyberSecurity Malaysia Chief Operating Officer delivered a presentation entitled "Role of Cross-Domain Technologies in Computing and Mitigating Cybersecurity Threats".

In the dialogue, CyberSecurity Malaysia expanded network with representatives from various countries alongside promoting its products and services.

9th Annual Smart City Development, Singapore

 

CyberSecurity Malaysia attended 9th Annual Smart City Development in Suntec Convention Centre, Singapore on 13 to 15 November 2019 organised by Marcus Evans.

This is a platform for researcher and industry to identify issues and challenges for smart city implementation. Abdul Fuad bin Abdul Rahman, Head of Malaysian Vulnerability Assessment Centre Department (MYVAC) represented CyberSecurity Malaysia and delivered a presentation titled “IoT Security".

CyberSecurity Malaysia also promoted MyVAC services like VAPT, ICS, IoT and SSDLC in the conference.

6th Plenary Meeting Of ISO/TC 307: Blockchain And Distributed Ledger Technologies, Hyderabad, India

 

CyberSecurity Malaysia attended 6th ISO/IEC TC 307 Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology Plenary Meeting in Hyderabad, India on 16 to 23 November 2019 organized by International Standard Organization.

This is a platform to develop a standard documentation blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology verified by a steering committee known as TC IEC / ISO 307.

Hazlin binti Abdul Ranidan and Isma Norshahila binti Mohammad Shah from Cryptography Development Department represented CyberSecurity Malaysia and participated in WG2, JWG4, WG3 and WG6 Working Group discussion.

CyberSecurity Malaysia contributed in standard documents formation in cybersecurity field and understood latest blockchain development and Distributed Ledger Technology.

19th Regional Asia Information Security Exchange (RAISE) Forum Meeting, Tokyo, Japan

 

CyberSecurity Malaysia attended 19th Regional Asia Information Security Exchange Forum Meeting in Tokyo, Japan on 19 to 20 November 2019 organized by Privacy Security Enhancement Forum.

This is a knowledge-sharing platform and idea exchange dialogue on strategy, policy and information security practice. It also provided a mechanism for follow-up action to policy requirement on Information Security standard in Asia.

Ahmad Sirhan Abdul Ghazali from Information Security Management and Assurance Department represented CyberSecurity Malaysai and delivered a presentation titled 'Integrated Assurance for Governance, Risk, and Compliance on Privacy'.

In this meeting, CyberSecurity Malaysia exchanged knowledge and build rapport with Asian representatives for future development.

4th International Cyber Warfare and Security Conference 2019 at Ankara, Turkey

 

CyberSecurity Malaysia attended 4th International Cyber Warfare and Security Conference 2019 in Ankara, Turkey on 20 to 21 November 2019 organised by Turkish Cyber Security Cluster.

This is a platform to discuss cybersecurity issues from a civil, defence and academic point of view. Ts. Dr. Solahuddin Shamsudin, Chief Technology Officer represented CyberSecurity Malaysia and delivered a presentation entitled "Creating A Robust Cybersecurity Infrastructure: Predictive and Pre-emptive And Just Defensive Mechanism Note".

In this conference, CyberSecurity Malaysia introduced the agency and promoted its products and services internationally.

2nd International Research Conference And Innovation Exhibition 2019 (IRCIE 2019), Johor Bharu, Johor

 

CyberSecurity Malaysia attended 2nd International Research Conference And Innovation Exhibition 2019 (IRCIE 2019) in KSL Hotel & Resort, Johor Bharu on 25 to 27 November 2019 organised by Universiti Kuala Lumpur, Institut Teknologi Industri Malaysia (UniKL-MITEC) with Universiti Kuala Lumpur, Institut Teknologi Kejuruteraan Marin Malaysia (UniKL - MIMET).

This international conference assisted on research papers presentation through discussion, exchange views, and accuracy of research findings.

Wira Zanoramy Ansiry bin Zakaria from Malaysia Computer Emergency Response Team (MyCERT) represented CyberSecurity Malaysia and delivered a presentation titled, "Crypto-Ransomware Detection on Windows Operating System".

Through this conference, CyberSecurity Malaysia exposed participants, exchanged opinions and widened cybersecurity expertise through cyber security research paper publication.

Launching Of The Modular Professional Certification , Shah Alam, Selangor

 

CyberSecurity Malaysia launched Modular Professional Certification in Concorde Hotel, Shah Alam on 25 November 2019, an event which was co-organised with Skill Development Department and Malaysia Board of Technologist.

Modular Professional Certification Launching Ceremony was participated by 450 participants from various agencies and organisation. YB Dato's Haji Mahfuz Bin Haji Omar Deputy Minister of Human Resources officiated the Opening Ceremony.

Through Modular Professional Certification, The Global Accredited Cybersecurity Education Professional Certification quality, "Global ACE Certification" will create world class cyber security workforce competency and promote cybersecurity development program in the region.

CyberSecurity Awareness And Knowledge Systemic High-Level Application (YAKSHA) First User Conference, Putrajaya

 

CyberSecurity Malaysia organized Cybersecurity Awareness and Knowledge Systemic High-level Application (YAKSHA) First User Conference in Putrajaya on 27 to 28 November 2019 lead by Strategy Management Department.

This event aims to introduce YAKSHA to potential consumers and ambassadors and establish co-operation between consumer and YAKSHA project member.

108 participants from 21 organizations and agencies participated in YAKSHA conference. Ismamuradi bin Abdul Kadir, Head of Strategy Management Department, Mohamed Anwer bin Mohamed Yusoff; Head of CyberSecurity Industry and Engagement Collaboration Department, and Wan Zulhamli Wan Abdullah Rahman, Head of Strategic Research & Advisory (SRA) represented CyberSecurity Malaysia as speakers.

CyberSecurity Malaysia increased cooperation between Malaysia with European Union (EU) members by establishing strategy network with Europe and ASEAN to consolidate cyber readiness level, prevent cyber-attack, reduce cyber risk and ensure cyber security preparedness.

Bangladesh Smart City Expo, Dhaka, Bangladesh

 

CyberSecurity Malaysia attended Bangladesh Smart City Expo Conference in International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), Dhaka, Bangladesh on 27 to 31 November 2019 organised by Dhaka North City Cooperation & Ministry of ICT Bangladesh.

It aims to introduce Smart City development in Dhaka, parallel to Bangladesh Digital initiative that begins in 2019.

Dato' Ts. Dr. Haji Amirudin Abdul Wahab, Chief Executive Officer; Roshdi bin Haji Ahmad, Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Industrial Relations and Izwadee bin Hamzah from CyberSecurity Industry and Engagement Collaboration department represented CyberSecurity Malaysia.

In this conference, CyberSecurity Malaysia promoted its products and services and submitted a proposal to strengthen Bangladesh cybersecurity ecosystem.

Working Visit From Badan Siber Dan Sandi Negara (BSSN), Indonesia To Cybersecurity Malaysia, Cyberjaya

 

CyberSecurity Malaysia welcomed a visit from Badan Siber dan Sandi Negara (BSSN), Indonesia Delegation led by Mrs Jumiati, Head of Subdirectorate of Response and Recovery of E-Commerce Information Infrastructure, Directorate of Digital Economy Response and Recovery, III Deputy with two other delegation on 27 November 2019.

Noraini binti Abdul Rahman, Head of International Engagement and Sharifah Roziah Mohd Kassim from Malaysia Computer Emergency Response Team (MyCERT) greeted the delegates and explained CyberSecurity Malaysia’s roles and responsibilities, followed with corporate video presentation. The delegation also visited MyCERT laboratory.

CyberSecurity Malaysia cultivated international cooperation in cyber security field, enhanced expertise development and establihed bilateral cooperation between Malaysia and Indonesia.
