Executive Technology Briefing And Leading Digital Strategy Workshop , Chiang Mai, Thailand

 

CyberSecurity Malaysia attended Executive Technology Briefing and Leading Digital Strategy workshop on 1 and 2 February 2020, in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Other than CyberSecurity Malaysia, there are also other organizations from Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines and Thailand.

The workshop organised by Nutanix is made to introduced data centre operations management that applies Nutanix hyper-convergence system to identify its systems development requirement. This is an initiative to develop and operate 'Cloud Private' in CyberSecurity Malaysia.

Ts. Dr Zahri Yunos, Chief Operating Officer and Mohd Azlan bin Mohd Nor, Head, Secure Technology Services Department, represented CyberSecurity Malaysia in this workshop.

CyberSecurity Malaysia gained knowledge on 'hyper-convergence' system to be implemented in own private cloud infrastructure near future.

CCTV Work-Frame Meeting, London, United Kingdom

 

On 17 February 2020, CyberSecurity Malaysia attended a meeting on CCTV work-frame, with Dr Norman Poh.

The meeting was organized by Dr Norman Poh to gain input on the CCTV security system framework in Malaysia.

Sharifah Nurul Asyikin Bt Syed Abdullah, Executive of Digital Forensic, represented CyberSecurity Malaysia in the meeting.

In this meeting and training programme, CyberSecurity Malaysia expanded its knowledge on CCTV safety work framework production in Malaysia through more effective forensic investigation.

“Memupuk Fasih Digital Dalam Abad Ke-21” Forum In Conjuntion Of Safer Internet Day 2020, Putrajaya

 

On 11 February 2020, CyberSecurity Malaysia organised a forum entitled "Memupuk Fasih Digital Dalam Abad Ke-21" in conjunction with Safer Internet Day(SID) 2020 - Malaysia Edition and launched a guide book entitled "Mendidik Anak-Anak Digital" at Putrajaya Marriott Hotel.

With the theme 'Digital Fluency', 5 panellists from the government, industry, academia and media led the forum which was attended by over 350 participants from various institutions of higher studies, youth organisation and government agencies.

YAB Dato's Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Malaysia's Deputy Prime Minister and YB Dato's Eddin Syazlee Shith, Deputy Minister of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia officiated the ceremony and launched the guide book.

During the forum, Safer Internet Day 2020 strategic partners exhibited their products and services, meanwhile, a group of students from Faculty of Design and Architecture in Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) displayed their doodle art customized to the theme #fasihdigital.

CyberSecurity Malaysia continues to create awareness cultivation the importance of cybersecurity in today’s society.

APT Training Course On Cybersecurity Technologies - "Recent Trend Of Risks And Countermeasures To Them",Tokyo, Japan

 

On 12 to 21 February 2020, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in APT Training Course On Cybersecurity Technologies - "Recent Of Risks And Countermeasures To Them Trend" in Tokyo, Japan, organised by Foundation KDDI, Japan.

This is a platform to expand cybersecurity knowledge specifically on actions to be taken during a cybersecurity incident.

Norhuzaimi bin Mohamed, Senior Executive of Government Engagement Department, represented CyberSecurity Malaysia alongside 10 other representatives from various countries.

In this training programme, CyberSecurity Malaysia learnt computer incident reaction alongside developing bilateral relationship with other countries.

KSA Review Workshop, Cyberjaya

 

On 18 February 2020, CyberSecurity Malaysia organised KSA Review Workshop at Cyberview Resort & Spa, Cyberjaya.

Cyber Security Professional Department conducted KSA Descriptor 3.0 Workshop to provide updates on three KSA descriptors under Global ACE Certification and perform job analysis on the attendees who are specialists from the academic, industry and government.

The workshop organized by the Cyber Security Professional Development Department and participate by experts from the academic, industry and government sectors.

Through this workshop proposition, CyberSecurity Malaysia continuously improve Global ACE Certification quality according to demand from the industry.

Knowledge Sharing On: “Getting Proactive About Assessing Your Cybersecurity Posture”, Cyberjaya

 

On 19 Febuary 2020 , CyberSecurity Malaysia in collaboration with Abex Sdn Bhd Group and Spirent hosted "Getting Proactive about Assessing your Cybersecurity Posture" knowledge sharing in Menara Cyber Axis, Cyberjaya.

The program was organized to discuss the latest technology on "Getting about Assessing your Cybersecurity Posture" with industry partners and to establish co-operation between industry partners and CyberSecurity Malaysia to collaborate on potential areas of the information security field.

50 local industry partners participated in this session entitled “Getting about Assessing your Cybersecurity Posture” delivered by Mr Dheeraj Arakkal, Head, Applications & Security for APAC South, Communications Spirent.

Through this knowledge sharing session, CyberSecurity Malaysia identify ways to improve local cybersecurity industry programme, strengthen the national cybersecurity ecosystem and boost the growth of local cybersecurity industry.

Malaysian Army Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Seminar, Wisma Perwira Kem Perdana Tentera Darat, Kuala Lumpur

 

On 19 and 20 February 2020, CyberSecurity Malaysia attended the Malaysian Army Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Seminar in Wisma Perwira Kem Perdana Tentera Darat, Sg Besi, Kuala Lumpur, organised by the Malaysian Intelligence Department.

This is an initiative to create awareness on Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) technology among army officers.

Sazali bin Sukardi, Senior Vice President, Strategic Research Division represented CyberSecurity Malaysia and delivered a presentation entitled "UAS Cyber Security".

In this seminar, the Malaysian Armed Forces gained knowledge on the importance of cybersecurity in line with the government's initiative to create a knowledgeable cybersecurity community.

CyberSAFE Security Awareness Talk (CSAT), Universiti Perguruan Sultan Idris, Tanjung Malim, Perak

 

On February 21, 2020, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in the launch of the "Pre-Distribute and Viral Impact Review" Campaign held at the Sultan Idris University (UPSI) in Tanjung Malim, Perak.

This campaign was organized by the students of the Faculty of Languages and Communications of the Sultan Idris University of Education (UPSI) aimed at exposing the general public, especially UPSI students to the issue of spreading fake news both locally and abroad.

Ridzwan Ahmad Bin Mohd Fathil, Executive, Outreach and Corporate Communications represented CyberSecurity Malaysia at this event where he delivered a cybersecurity awareness talk.

CyberSecurity Malaysia's participation in the event has helped raise awareness about the spread of fake news through social media sites among the public, especially Sultan Idris University students.

RSA Conference 2020, Moscone Center, San Francisco, United States Of America

 

On 24 to 28 February 2020, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in RSA Conference 2020 in San Francisco, United States of America, organised by RSA.

This conference introduced new technology to tackle various cybersecurity threats and also a platform to learn from cybersecurity experts.

Ts. Dr Zahri Yunos Chief Operations Officer and Ts. Dr Asmawi Ariffin, Senior Vice President, Cyber Security Responsive Service (CSRS) Division represented CyberSecurity Malaysia.

CyberSecurity Malaysia expanded its networking opportunity and developed new ideas on tackling global cybercrime issues.

Malaysian Youth @ Safer Internet Day 2020, Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur

 

On February 29, 2020, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in the Malaysian Youth @ Safer Internet Day 2020 program located at the Faculty of Law, University of Malaya (UM) Kuala Lumpur.

The program is organized by the Internet Society Malaysia Chapter (ISOC) in support of the Internet Safety Day (SID) 2020 campaign. The initiative aimed at raising awareness and enlightenment for young people to improve their literacy levels in the digital world, as well as create critical and in cyberspace.

YABhg. General Tan Sri Dato 'Seri Commander Mohd Azumi Mohamed (Retired) Chairman of the Board, together with the delegation of CyberSecurity Malaysia attended the event. He was the guest of honour who delivered the opening speech and participated in a town hall session attended by 150 participants. Mrs Elina Mubin, Executive, Outreach and Corporate Communications, served as a panellist for a forum on digital issues.

CyberSecurity Malaysia's participation in the event raised awareness of the importance of cybersecurity while supporting the Internet Safety Day (SID) 2020 campaign to increase digital literacy among youth in Malaysia.
