Message from CEO

Assalamualaikum WBT and Salam Sejahtera.

We meet again in the third edition of CyberNEWS in 2021.

In this third quarter, we are still in the process of mitigating the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Most states have already entered Phase 3 and 4 of the National Recovery Plan (PEMULIH). Various economic sectors have begun to open with strict SOPs compliance.

Throughout the third quarter, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in multiple webinars with the industry. Among them are the Roundtable Discussion "Cyber Security Readiness" with Sophos Malaysia and "Cybertronium Firmware Security Webinar - Threats Below the Surface In High Risk Devices" with Cybertronium Sdn Bhd, In addition, CyberSecurity Malaysia also attended 2021 Annual General Meeting of the Asia Pacific Computer Emergency Response Team (APCERT), online.

A series of workshops to develop cyber security professionals such as "KSA Descriptor Review" and Cyber Forensic Training Program for Asia Pacific University (APU) and Management and Science University (MSU) were also organised.

As an initiative to help individuals with information technology (IT) backgrounds who were affected by today’s pandemic, CyberSecurity Malaysia introduced “Pemulih SiberKASA” Cyber Security Upskills Training Program under the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia (KKMM).

On 9 September 2021, YB Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima TPr Annuar Haji Musa, Minister of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia (KKMM) visited CyberSecurity Malaysia accompanied by senior officials in the Ministry. This is a recognition to CyberSecurity Malaysia to address Minister's concern for the field of cyber security.

Once again, I urge all Malaysian digital citizens to continue to adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and take precautions steps to break COVID-19 chain. Use technology positively, ethically, and responsibly and practice high level of self -control at all times.
