GLOBAL ACE CERTIFICATION BOARD OF GOVERNANCE MEETING 1/2020, CYBERJAYA

 

On 6 December 2021, CyberSecurity Malaysia hosted the Global ACE Certification Board of Governance (BoG) Meeting with the aim of ensuring continued development, sustainability and improvement of the Global ACE Certification Scheme.

The meeting was attended by stakeholders in the field of cyber security comprising Government agencies, industry representatives and public universities.

The meeting was chaired by Dato’ Ts. Dr. Haji Amirudin Abdul Wahab, as the Chairman of Global ACE Certification and also the Chief Executive Officer of CyberSecurity Malaysia. In the meeting, Ts. Lee Hwee Hsiung, Head of Cyber ​​Security Professional Development Department who is also the Global ACE Certification Manager presented the latest implementation and achievements of Global ACE Certification.

By organisinng this meeting, Global ACE Certification can be expanded from the national level and further to the international level in line with industry, national and international needs.

GRAND FINAL OF NATIONAL ICT SECURITY DISCOURSE – CYBERSAFE CHALLENGE TROPHY (NICTSED)2021, KUALA LUMPUR

 

On 7 December 2021, The Grand Final of National ICT Security Discourse - CyberSAFE Challenge Trophy 2021 or NICTSeD 2021 was held in hybrid mode and officiated by YB Datuk Zahidi bin Zainul Abidin, Deputy Minister of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia.

NICTSeD 2021 is supported by the Ministry of Education (MOE) through the Educational Resources & Technology Division (BSTP). This competition is open to secondary school students throughout Malaysia.

This is the eighth (8) edition of NICTSeD. Since the country is still in the COVID-19 pandemic, the competition was held virtually.

The grand finals consists of three schools:

  1. SMK Sultan Abu Bakar, Kuantan Pahang
  2. SMK Alor Akar, Kuantan, Pahang
  3. Tunku Kurshiah College, Negeri Sembilan

Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sultan Abu Bakar, Kuantan, Pahang was crowned the champion and defended their championship for the second time.

Through NICTSeD 2021, students' communication skills, research skills as well as the ability to address ICT security are enhanced, to prepare for tertiary studies.

ASPIRASI KELUARGA MALAYSIA 2021, KUALA LUMPUR

 

On 9 to 12 December 2021, CyberSecurity Malaysia participated in the 100 Hari Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia’ program at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, Kuala Lumpur.

100 Hari Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia’ is an exclusive event to highlight the Government’s achievements, within 100 days of the implementation of Keluarga Malaysia .

The opening ceremony was officiated by YAB Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob, Prime Minister of Malaysia. Ministry of Communications and Multimedia together with its Departments and Agencies showcased its product and services. CyberSecurity Malaysia promoted MyCyberSecurityClinic (MyCSC) services and KKMM Minister launched 'SiberKASA' telefilm.

CyberSecurity Malaysia successfully promote its services towards public and  create awareness on the benefits of cyber security.

CYBER SECURITY MALAYSIA – AWARDS, CONFERENCE & EXHIBITION (CSM-ACE) 2021, MENARA CYBER AXIS, CYBERJAYA

 

CyberSecurity Malaysia organised its annual event, Cyber ​​Security Malaysia-Awards, Conference & Exhibition (CSM-ACE) 2021 on 13 to 17 December 2021 at Menara Cyber ​​Axis, Cyberjaya.

The 12th CSM-ACE is endorsed by the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia (KKMM), and the Office of the Chief Security Officer of the Government of Malaysia.

This public-private partnership based event includes four (4) main components, namely the Malaysian Cyber Security Awards, Conferences and Sector Specific and Career Exhibitions. It serves as a platform for cybersecurity professionals and industry players to gather, exchange views and share ideas on technology as well as current cybersecurity issues. It also serves as a platform for the development of business networks as well as opportunities for collaboration among local and foreign cybersecurity industry players.

CSM-ACE 2021 Opening and Keynotes
CSM-ACE Opening Ceremony on 14 December 2021  was officiated by YBhg. Dato' Sri Haji Mohammad bin Mentek, Secretary General, Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia representing the Honorable Minister of Communications and Multimedia. Also present at the ceremony was YABhg. General Tan Sri Dato' Seri Panglima Mohd Azumi Bin Mohamed (Retired), Chairman of the Board of CyberSecurity Malaysia.

Malaysia Cyber Security Award 2021
Malaysia Cyber Security Award recognises the achievements of information security professionals, local Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) as well as global organisations that contributed towards the development of cyber security in Malaysia's dynamic ICT landscape.

There are six (6) award categories in 2021, namely:

    1. Best Cyber Security Professionals

    2. Best Cyber Security Organisation

    3. Best Cyber Security Project

    4. Best Cyber Security Innovation

    5. Best Cyber Security Assurance Provider, and

    6. Best CyberSAFE Professionals

CSM-ACE Conference 2021
CSM-ACE 2021 conference took place on 14 December 2021, hybrid, involving a presentation and panel discussion based on CSM-ACE 2021 theme ,"#cybertransform".

Cyber Security Career Fair 2021
This event was held on 13 to 17 December 2021 virtually. It is an initiative under the Pemulih program to help individuals affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Meanwhile, a total of Four (4) sector-specific events were held during CSM-ACE 2021, including Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Symposium, Malaysian Cyber Security Empowerment Incentive Program (PGPKS) for SMEs, Cisco Cyber Combat Session and BlockTech Forum 2021.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS- “PEOPLE, PROCESS AND TECHNOLOGY CERTIFICATION: AN INSTRUMENT OF COMPLIANCE” WEBINAR, MENARA CYBER AXIS, CYBERJAYA

 

On 23 December 2021, CyberSecurity Malaysia organised a Webinar on the Requirements for Certification- "People, Process and Technology Certification: An Instrument Of Compliance" to increase awareness of the consumers and industry players in building a safer and enhanced cybersecurity ecosystem.

This webinar was officiated by Dato' Ts. Dr. Haji Amirudin Abdul Wahab, Chief Executive Officer of CyberSecurity Malaysia followed by a keynote address by the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Commissioner, YBrs. Mr. Mazmalek Mohamad.

75 participants from various organisations participated in this webinar. Two panel discussions took place highlighting the following topics “Strengthening the Information Security Ecosystem with Compliance with International Standards” and “How to Achieve Cybersecurity Assurance”.

CyberSecurity Malaysia through this webinar, encourage CNII in public and private sector organizations to undergo certification to improve the information security of their services.

GLOBAL ACE CERTIFICATION MEETING FOR THE FORMATION OF COUNTRY CHAPTERS WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF CIRT E-GOV BGD (BANGLADESH), CYBER AXIS TOWER, CYBERJAYA

 

On 23 December 2021, CyberSecurity Malaysia organised meeting on Global ACE Certification Country Chapter with CIRT e-GOV BGD (Bangladesh) Representatives.

The online meeting was attended by six representatives from BGD e-GOV CIRT (Bangladesh) and five representatives from CyberSecurity Malaysia. It is a platform to discuss the formation of the Global ACE Certification Country Chapter after the application from CIRT e-GOV BGD (Bangladesh) is approved.

This meeting was chaired by the Global Director of ACE Certification, Ts. Dr. Zahri Yunos. At the session, Ts. Lee Hwee Hsiung, Head of Cyber Security Professional Development Department and also Global Manager of ACE Certification delivered a presentation on Introduction to the Formation of Global ACE Certification Country Chapter.

This meeting created opportunities for Global ACE Certification to spread its wings internationally and achieve the goal of the scheme to be introduced and implemented in the OIC countries and the Asian region.
