I am pleased to present CyberNEWS for the fourth quarter of 2021. Welcome to CyberNEWS for the fourth quarter of 2021.

2021 is highly challenging as we were still in the phase of economic recovery, yet the spread of COVID-19 is enduring. Several states in Malaysia were also hit by the floods forcing thousands to evacuate. We hope all victims are in perseverance at these critical times.

In this fourth quarter of 2021, CyberSecurity Malaysia collaborated with several government agencies and industry to host various programs, namely Malaysian Financial Crime Prevention Conference 2021 (MFCPC'21) jointly organised by the National Financial Crime Prevention Center (NFCC), Launch of Pemulih SiberKASA OJT Kick-Off Day with the industry for participants’ placement at their organisations and also the 13th Annual Conference of the Computer Emergency Response Team-Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-CERT) which was held online.

CyberSecurity Malaysia also participated in a series of workshops and discussions to gather cyber security professional such as the Digital Forensics Working Group Workshop, the Cyber Forensics Colloquium 2021, Global ACE Certification Board of Governance (BoG) and Global ACE Certification Meeting for the Formation of (Country Chapter) with CIRT e-GOV BGD (Bangladesh) Representatives.

We also explored several collaboration opportunities in the field of cyber security with higher education institutions in Malaysia, namely Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) and Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM).

National ICT Security Discourse Competition - CyberSAFE™ Challenge Cup (NICTSeD) 2021 also took place in this quarter. 75 schools throughout Malaysia participated in the competition, and the finals was held in hybrid format and crowned Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sultan Abu Bakar, Pahang as the champion.

In December 2021, CyberSecurity Malaysia organised its annual event for the 12th time, Cyber Security Malaysia-Awards, Conference & Exhibition (CSM-ACE) 2021. The event also recognised individuals and organisations who have contributed to the development of cyber security in Malaysia through the Malaysian Cyber Security Award 2021. During this event, Cyber Security Career Fair 2021 and four industry-specific sectors were conducted at Menara Cyber Axis, Cyberjaya.

Despite many restrictions, CyberSecurity Malaysia remains proactive in 2021. We appreciate your continuous support and please spread the knowledge of cyber security gained from this CyberNEWS to your family and friends.
