Don't give out info, Maybank customers told

PETALING JAYA, Sat: Someone claiming to be an employee of Maybank has been asking for confidential account information from the bank's customers.

According to a statement released by Maybank today; the person has been making phone calls to customers, requesting details such as username, password and PIN (personal identification number).

The person claimed that the information is to facilitate certain transactions.

No enquiries on confidential account information is being carried out by Maybank, a spokesperson said, adding that passwords and PIN should at no time be disclosed.

He advised customers not to entertain such calls, and to contact Maybank in if they receive a call.
