|Perak to turn into knowledge hub for cyber event
09 September 2014 (MalayMail)
PERAK will be transformed into a knowledge hub for four days when it hosts the Cyber Security Malaysia Awards Conference and Exhibition (CSMACE) 2014 from November 11.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir said the event was a great way to showcase the country’s talents and expose the state to a knowledge landscape as it would be the first time CSM-ACE would be held outside Kuala Lumpur.
This was also in line with the aim to transform Perak from a tin mining state to a “knowledge state” by implementing the five knowledge initiatives (k-initiatives).
“Our nation will not be able to move forward in terms of technology if not for cyber security and because of that, we are introducing the K-Government, K-Economy, K-Infrastructure, K-Society and K-Worker initiatives,” he said.
This year, CSM-ACE will focus on securing e-businesses as well as human capital capability and capacity-building with the theme “Trusted and Secured Ecosystem”.
Cyber Security Malaysia chief operating officer Dr Amirudin Abdul Wahab said: “There will be cyber security training for two weeks from October 28 with some training in Ipoh while the rest in Kuala Lumpur.
“We expect 1,500 cyber security practitioners to take part in the training programme to develop skills to defend their organisations from cyber attacks and cyber crimes.”
